Enjoy free sunset screenings on the Hudson waterfront at Brookfield Place, July 28, 29, 30
Arts Brookfield and Rooftop Films present fifth annual Rooftop Films screenings featuring Animation Block Party, The Best of New York Nonfiction and In Pursuit of
Silence
New York, NY July 12, 2016 – Arts Brookfield and Rooftop Films team up for the fifth summer at Brookfield Place to present three special nights of free independent film screenings along the Hudson River waterfront. From Thursday, July 28 to Saturday, July 30, 2016, doors open at 6:30 p.m. The evening kicks off with live music performances at 7:30 p.m. followed by the film screening at 8:30 p.m.
Back by popular demand, Animation Block Party on Thursday, July 28 allows the audience to experience a taste of this year’s best animated short films. Friday, July 29 celebrates The Best of New York Nonfiction, a collective of documentary shorts shown throughout the 20-year history of Rooftop Films that remind us that New York is a city full of opinionated walkers, bike messengers, bike thieves, Shakespearian birds, and street furniture—and we like it that way. In Pursuit of Silence on Saturday, July 30 rounds out the series, exploring the intrusion of noise on humankind. Audience members will experience the film with headphones provided. In lieu of live music, July 30th kicks off with a guided meditation.
Arts Brookfield’s Rooftop Films event is one of a year-round calendar of events that Arts Brookfield provides free to the public at Brookfield properties across New York and around the globe. For more information, visit www.ArtsBrookfield.com.
Each evening of Rooftop Films is free and open to the public—no tickets or reservations required. Seating is first come, first served. For more information visit artsbrookfield.com/rooftop-films.
