Health Trainer Free lifestyle assessments with a health trainer to assess what support people will benefit from, providing:

• personalised health action plans, with realistic goals• information on how to get involved in a range of local health and wellbeing activities• motivation and encouragement

Stop Smoking We provide:

• up to 12 weeks motivational support and advice for smokers who are ready and willing to quit• nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) vouchers, if necessary (prescription charges may apply)• liaison with GPs for Zyban or Champix• brief intervention and intermediate training courses to equip community staff to provide stop smoking support

Weight management support for adultsA free 10 week programme, which aims to help adults (16 years +) with a BMI over 35 lose weight in a supportive and informative way.

The programme is structured around:• healthy eating• physical activity• behaviour and lifestyle changes• coping strategies• regular follow-up sessions

Weight management support for children and young peopleA free 10 week programme for overweight children aged 4-15 years, promoting a happy and healthy way of life.The programme is structured around:

• family based approach• information sharing and discussion for parents• monthly support/follow-up sessions• weekly active play and active taster sessions (sessions differ depending on age)

Physical activity Wide range of physical activities catering for all levels of health and fitness, encouraging local people to get more active, including:

• chair aerobics• circuit sessions• men only football fitness• salsa dancing• walking and cycling groups

Mental wellbeing Group based activities for people with low-confidence/self-esteem, anxiety or mild depression. These include:

• calm and create – helping people relax and feel good through art and craft• music based drumming sessions – helping people relax and feel good through music• relaxation sessions• sleep sound – supporting people to get a good night’s sleep• tai Chi

The teams are also trained to appropriately signpost people to other mental health and wellbeing services where necessary.

Healthy Settings (0 – 19)We support schools, nurseries and other children’s settings to achieve better outcomes around health and wellbeing, as well as working with staff, parents and carers to improve their knowledge and confidence.
