Lanzarote is

a small island of volcanic origin

in the Canarias Islands, inthe Atlantic Ocean, between Fuerteventura and La Graciosa.

The island has got a population of 142.000 and it is 862 km. Its capital is Arrecife. There´s an airport in San Bartolomé on the right of Arrecife. Also has got some bus stations and the buseshere are guaguas, but there aren´t any train stations.

Some typical things are the Lucha Canaria sport and the Mojo Picón food.

The beaches are very famous. Playa

Blanca is a white beach near to the great Playa del Papagayo. Playa Cucharas is between Playa Blanca and Playa del Papagayo and it’s famous because people can do windsurf.

Lanzarote’s got some nice places to visit:“Cave of Los Verdes” is a long cave to visit opposite to “Jameos del Agua”. In Jameos del Agua there are small

white crabs in the water.

Cesar Marnique is a very important artist. His art is very interesting and it´s in a lot of placesof the island. “El Jardín de los Cactus” is on the left of his house and there are a lot of different cactus.

Timanfaya National Park is a volcanic place. There aren´t any big plants because there are volcanic rocks. The camels are in front of Timanfaya and people ride them, it´s funny!

Yaiza is a village in Lanzarote between El Golfo and Uga and behind Femés. It´s famous for the fish and wine. It´s got a Church and the houses are

white. It´s a quiet place.

Teguise is a town next to Yaiza but it´s different. It’s very nice because has got a lot of hotels, restaurants, clothes centres and cars. It’s a funny and noisy town next to the beach.

Lanzarote is an island in Canarias Archipelago. It´s sunny 365 days at year. The food is fantastic and the beaches wonderful. Here there’re a lot of shopping centres and also sports to do. Lanzarote has got nice places to visit: “Fundacion Cesar Manrique” is the place with the Manrique collection art (in Teguise). “Taro Taniche” is the Cesar Manrique´s house. “San Jose Castle” is a castle to defend the island of pirates (in Arrecife). “Iglesia de San Gines” is the first church in the island. “The Canarian Whale and Dolphin Museum” has got information with pictures
