Community Support CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU! Well done to Heather Scott who has raised the wonderful sum of £1000 with her 101 miles challenge. Thank you to all who donated. WEEKLY UPDATE FROM THE FOOD CO-OP During the last week, the numbers attending Corpus Christi for food support have continued to grow. Most people attend on the allocated 3 days although a few people still contact the presbytery out of the hours. The Food Coop has been aware of 6 families who have been accommodated in the area in the last week. Five of these families are self-isolating due to the nature of the accommodation they have come from and have received support by home delivery. After the two weeks isolation, they will be able to attend on the allocated days if they wish to. One of our members had a baby within the last week and we have provided food, nappies, a baby chair and clothes, as well as clothes for the older siblings. The family have just got leave to remain, so they are juggling very limited finances. A social worker liaised with us and took the clothes round. Donations have been received from several local churches and individuals. Many thanks to all who have donated, assisted with the delivery of food to Corpus Christi, helped prepare the bags for the week and delivered parcels. It is very much appreciated and has enabled the Food Coop to continue to offer support to vulnerable individuals and families over the last few months. This ongoing commitment is helping us to keep up with the demand. Kind regards, Kath PASTORAL CARE If you have any worries or if you are struggling financially, please don't hesitate to contact: Fr Keith on 0191 487 6505 or email [email protected] Deacon Tom Rooke on 0191 477 1428 or email [email protected]
