24th October 2016Dear Parents/Guardians:
Please take note of the following new arrangements for entering school in the mornings. All children will go to the main playground and will be met by a teacher and two classroom assistants at 8:45am.No child will be permitted into the school building unless they are attending the Breakfast club or if they are travelling by bus. Those travelling by bus will enter school by the main door as usual and will be met by a classroom assistant. They will be supervised in the assembly hall until 8.45am.Those children attending either Breakfast Club or who have travelled by bus will be taken to the main playground at 8.45am.
It has come to my attention that it is too easy to gain access to the inside of the school in the mornings. In accordance with Child Protection legislation and my obligation to ensure your child’s safety. I feel it is necessary to implement these procedures.
I apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause, however, your child’s safety is of paramount importance to myself and all staff who have responsibility for the overall welfare of their children.
If you need to avail of the Breakfast Club as a result of these new arrangements please speak to Miss McKeown in the office.
