Ben's Bin

Ben's Bin

Before Covid we were going 1,000 miles an hour in a hundred different

directions from "pillar to post."  Covid slowed things down.  Now we have been

forced to say no, and it is time to carefully say "yes."  I hope that you will use

your faith to guide you and that you will look for ways to serve the Lord

especially at LMPC.  Jesus said that the fields were white for harvest- therefore

pray for laborers for the field.  Ironically, he didn't say to pray the fields would

magically come in.  People are coming back- at almost the same levels as pre-

covid in our church, but the volunteers are not.  We need, for example, ushers,

pew pals (who clean up the pews after Sunday worship), nursery workers,

youth advisors and more to make things go.  If you'd like to volunteer, please

call the church office (803) 345-5140 or email [email protected]

Thanks for answering God's call.  May God bless you for doing so.

Memorials- We have not talked about memorials for awhile.  It is a time honored tradition to

give in memory of someone who died to the house of God.  When you give a

memorial to LMPC a thank you is written to you and also the closest family

member is notified of your memorial (though not your amount).  Often these

gifts go to help meet church projects.  For example, one year they helped pay

for tables and chairs. Another time they helped pay for sound equipment so we

can hear better.  Thanks to those who want to honor others as a part of your

worship and giving.

WORSHIP AT LMPC      We will have 8:30 AM Worship at the Lake (925 Sugar Mill Rd Chapin).   It is in

person and livestreamed on FaceBook, YouTube, and the website.  It is also

broadcast on 87.9 low frequency FM.  Some stay in their cars and some get out with

their own chairs or blankets to listen.  We will continue this until the end of June

when we will move the 8:30 service back to the sanctuary.

Our 10:30 worship is in the sanctuary.  The CDC recently said for those

vaccinated, social distancing and masks are unnecessary.  We will follow their

guidelines.  In grace, we will not mask shame one way or the other.  But all are

welcome here.

Adult Christian Education

This summer we are beginning Summer Sunday School 9:30 on "Spirituality

and Technology."  In person meeting will be in the Fellowship Hall we will put

out zoom credentials next week (we will also try Facebook Live).  Participants

will be invited to use a YouVersion Bible app- or read a book "The Ruthless

Elimination of Hurry."  Many have had to up their ante on technology during the

For example, when waiting in line, 75% say they will immediately

look at their phones.  But how does that help or hurt our faith?

Being aware of the strengths and weaknesses of technology helps us

to use it in moderation and discipline for the glory of God.  Come join us.
