CLIMATE CHANGE, COVID-19, AND THE GREAT RESETA CLIMATE, ENERGY AND COVID PRIMER FOR POLITICIANS AND MEDIABy Allan M.R. MacRae, May 8, 2021 UPDATE 1e

This treatise was originally sent to Canadian and American politicians and the media in March 2021. Most of them won’t understand it, because they have no scientific competence and have been utterly duped - programmed for decades by false climate scares and green energy frauds.

This update was written in May 2021 to report even more global cooling as measured by satellites and new harsh cold events, particularly in Europe and North America that have severely harmed early crops. Harsh cold events have struck all countries in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

SUMMARY

We published in 2002 that there was NO catastrophic human-made global warming /climate change crisis, and green energy schemes were NOT green and produced little useful (dispatchable) energy. Dangerous global warming and climate change have NOT HAPPENED and green energy schemes have proved to be COSTLY, UNRELIABLE AND INEFFECTIVE.

Global warming is NOT a threat, but global cooling IS dangerous to humanity and the environment. In 2002 we predicted that natural global cooling would start circa 2020, based on low solar activity, and that prediction is strongly supported by recent evidence.

Politicians foolishly believed scary global warming falsehoods and brewed the perfect storm, crippling our energy systems with costly and unreliable green energy schemes that utterly fail due to intermittency, at a time when we need more cheap, reliable, dispatchable energy due to increased energy demand and imminent global cooling. The people of Australia, Britain, Germany, California, Texas and elsewhere have all suffered due to GREEN ENERGY FAILURES THAT WERE PREDICTABLE AND WERE PREDICTED.

We published in March 2020 that there was no justification for the Covid-19 lockdown, and that it would cause great and needless harm. The Covid-19 lockdown is now estimated to have caused 10-to-100-times the damage of the Covid-19 illness, in terms of increased harm to individuals, families and the economies they depend on.

The same leftist groups concocted and promoted the global warming fraud and the Covid-19 lockdown scam, for political and financial gain. Then these groups linked the two frauds, stating "to solve Covid-19 we have to solve Climate Change” – utterly false and foolish, not even plausible enough to be specious. Then these same groups proposed their Final Solution, the “Great Reset”, a Chinese Communist Party style dictatorship, a centrally-controlled economy where we live like poor slaves, lorded over by our wealthy political masters.

The tragic reality is that the twin frauds of Climate-and-Covid have been accepted by most politicians. Some have covertly or overtly embraced extreme-left politics, and others are so simple-minded and gullible that they believe any falsehood that is repeated often enough. We are governed by scoundrels and imbeciles.

THE GREENS’ PREDICTIVE CLIMATE AND ENERGY RECORD IS THE WORST

The ability to predict is the best objective measure of scientific and technical competence.

Climate doomsters have a perfect NEGATIVE predictive track record - every very-scary climate prediction, of the ~80 they have made since 1970, has FAILED TO HAPPEN.

“Rode and Fischbeck, professor of Social & Decision Sciences and Engineering & Public Policy, collected 79 predictions of climate-caused apocalypse going back to the first Earth Day in 1970. With the passage of time, many of these forecasts have since expired; the dates have come and gone uneventfully. In fact, 48 (61%) of the predictions have already expired as of the end of 2020.”

To end 2020, the climate doomsters were proved wrong in their scary climate predictions 48 times - at 50:50 odds for each prediction, that's like flipping a coin 48 times and losing every time! The probability of that being mere random stupidity is 1 in 281 trillion! It's not just global warming scientists being stupid.

These climate doomsters were not telling the truth - they displayed a dishonest bias in their analyses that caused these extremely improbable falsehoods, these frauds. There is a powerful logic that says no rational person or group could be this wrong for this long - they followed a corrupt agenda – in fact, they knew they were lying.

The global warming alarmists have a NO predictive track record – they have been 100% wrong about every scary climate prediction - nobody should believe them.

The radical greens have NO credibility, make that NEGATIVE credibility – their core competence is propaganda, the fabrication of false alarm.

OUR PREDICTIVE CLIMATE AND ENERGY RECORD IS CORRECT-TO-DATE

Our 2002 predictions are among the most accurate. In 2002, co-authors Dr Sallie Baliunas, Astrophysicist, Harvard-Smithsonian, Dr Tim Patterson, Paleoclimatologist, Carleton U, Ottawa and Allan MacRae, P.Eng. (now retired), McGill, Queens, U of Alberta, published: 1. “Climate science does not support the theory of catastrophic human-made global warming – the alleged warming crisis does not exist.” 2. “The ultimate agenda of pro-Kyoto advocates is to eliminate fossil fuels, but this would result in a catastrophic shortfall in global energy supply – the wasteful, inefficient energy solutions proposed by Kyoto advocates simply cannot replace fossil fuels.” Allan MacRae published in the Calgary Herald on September 1, 2002, based on communication with Dr Tim Patterson:

3. “If [as we believe] solar activity is the main driver of surface temperature rather than CO2, we should begin the next cooling period by 2020 to 2030.” MacRae updated his global cooling prediction in 2013, based on cold events that occurred starting circa 2008 near the end of Solar Cycle 23:

3a. “I suggest global cooling starts by 2020 or sooner. Bundle up.”

CLIMATE AND ENERGY - SUPPORTING EVIDENCE AND CONCLUSIONS

Points 1 and 2 above are now demonstrated correct-to-date. There is no real human-made catastrophic global warming / climate change crisis. Grid-connected green energy has proven to be costly and ineffective – two abject failures by climate alarmists.

1. There is no real global warming crisis – the alleged catastrophic warming has not happened and is not going to happen – that false alarm has been fabricated in faulty climate models that deliberately exaggerate any possible CO2-driven global warming. The catastrophic human-made Global Warming (aka “Climate Change) hypothesis assumes that increased

fossil fuel combustion drives catastrophic human-made global warming but that assumption is disproved many times by the evidence.

Dr Richard Lindzen of MIT and Dr Will Happer of Princeton are two of the most intelligent and accomplished scientists on the planet. CO2 changes also lag temperature changes by ~~800 years in the ice core record on a longer time scale. CONCLUSION: There will be no catastrophic human-made warming and no significant increase in chaotic weather due to increasing atmospheric CO2 concentrations.

2. Grid-connect green energy (wind and solar power generation) is costly and ineffective, primarily because of the fatal flaw of intermittency. There is no widely-available, cost-effective means of solving intermittency in grid-connected wind and solar power generation. Electric grids have been destabilized, electricity costs have soared and Excess Winter Deaths have increased due to foolish green energy schemes.

CO2, GLOBAL WARMING, CLIMATE AND ENERGY June 15, 2019

Green energy does not even significantly reduce CO2 emissions, because of the need for almost 100% conventional spinning reserve, required when the wind does not blow or the Sun does not shine.

CONCLUSION: Wind and solar green energy schemes are not green and produce little useful (dispatchable) energy.

3. Point 3, incipient global cooling is more and more probable, based on recent evidence. Contrary to political myth, atmospheric CO2 does NOT significantly drive global temperature – the Sun does – global temperature change is natural and follows solar activity.

Global cooling is highly dangerous to humanity and the environment – cool and cold weather is much more dangerous than warm and hot weather.COLD WEATHER KILLS 20 TIMES AS MANY PEOPLE AS HOT WEATHER September 4, 2015In 2015 expert meteorologist Joseph D’Aleo and I co-authored a paper that proved that global cooling was much more dangerous than global warming, even in warm countries. Excess Winter Deaths (more deaths in winter months than non-winter months) total ~100,000 per year in the USA and ~5000-10,000 in Canada.

This global cooling is primarily solar-induced, driven by the end of very-weak Solar Cycle 24 (SC24) and the beginning of very-weak SC25, as I (we) correctly published in 2002.

The prediction of solar activity has been fraught with uncertainty. A compilation of 45 scholars’ sunspot maxima predictions for SC24 ranged from a low of 50 to a high of 169 – vs an actual smoothed maximum of 81.8.

Theodor Landscheidt's famous 2003 global cooling prediction was the culmination of his earlier papers.NEW LITTLE ICE AGE INSTEAD OF GLOBAL WARMING? T. Landscheidt May 1, 2003 Analysis of the sun’s varying activity in the last two millennia indicates that contrary to the IPCC’s speculation about man-made global warming as high as 5.8C within the next hundred years, a long period of cool climate with its coldest phase around 2030 is to be expected.

This period has started in the Sun in 2020 and will last until 2053. During this modern grand minimum, one would expect to see a reduction of the average terrestrial temperature by up to 1.0°C, especially, during the periods of solar minima between the cycles 25–26 and 26–27, e.g. in the decade 2031–2043.

Our 2002 prediction of global cooling starting circa 2020 is appearing more and more probable. In this winter of 2020-2021, new record cold temperatures have been experienced all over the world. I correctly predicted this cold Northern Hemisphere winter in August 2020, based on low Nino34 Sea Surface Temperature (SST) anomalies:Check out NIno34 temperatures, again down to Minus 0.6C – winter will be cold. Nino34 SST anom’s hit minimums of minus1.4C-1.3C in Oct2020 and Nov2020 – so global coldest temperatures (+4 months) should be Feb2021 and Mar2021.Spring could also be late in many parts of the world. Nino34 anomaly stayed below minus0.5C until 7March2021 - Plus 4 months is early April, May, June, July .

The Global Lower Tropospheric Temperature Anomaly has cooled 0.64C in 14 months,

from an anomaly of +0.59C in February 2020 to only -0.05C in April 2021.

FAULTY COVID DEATH NUMBERS EXPLAINEDThe American Thinker, April 9, 2021

For many of us who have had ties to the scientific standards and procedures connected to recording fatalities there has been a serious sense of doubt about the numbers of Covid 19 deaths reported by the media, courtesy of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The numbers have appeared to be somewhere between marginally overstated and grossly exaggerated. Finally, these instincts have been supported by a peer-reviewed scientific paper.

On October 12 of last year, a 25-page paper in Science, Public Health Policy and The Law was released that explained, in detail, the foundational reason for the publicly announced fatality numbers and the mechanism by which they were derived. This paper, authored by ten members of the scientific community is titled “Covid-19 Data Collection, Comorbidity & Federal Law: A Historical Perspective.” At the heart of the issue is the CDC and its methods for collecting and reporting the data, a model which was changed radically in the face of the current crisis.

In 2003, the CDC authored and released guidance documents used by the forensic community titled Medical Examiners’ and Coroners’ Handbook on Death Registration and Fetal Death Reporting along with “Physicians’ Handbook on Medical Certification of Death.” These have been the standard for the certification of fatalities, nationwide, for seventeen years. However, in March of 2020 things changed.

The National Center for Health Statistics released Covid-19 Alert No. 2 which changed the way deaths with connections to Covid 19 were reported and tabulated. The revealing line in the alert is in the last paragraph: “Covid-19 should be reported on the death certificates for all decedents where the disease caused or is assumed to have caused or contributed to death.” [emphasis added] This changed the parameters for the inclusion of deaths from Covid, raising the numbers substantially.

A table in the October study titled “Comparison of Total Covid-19 Fatalities Based Upon Different Reporting Guidelines” demonstrated that deaths through August 23rd of 2020 were higher by over 16 times as compared to the traditional definition. If the reporting of these deaths followed the CDC guidebook from 2003, the number of Covid deaths would have been 9,684. However, utilizing this new reporting and classification method that exclusively applied to Covid-19, the number of deaths is 161,392.

The paper delves into a variety of other topics, some legal and some statistical, that are all intrinsically functions of the change in death reporting parameters initiated by the March 2020 alert. However, for so many of us who have had nagging doubts about the actual numbers, knowing that the calculus for recording these deaths had been replaced

is reassuring. Having spent a year looking at Covid fatality numbers and assuming that the true count was more likely half or a third of what was being reported, this new report is both satisfying and startling. None of us would have guessed that the actual disparity would be that the number of Covid deaths, according to this study, is a bit less than 6% of the numbers reported by the media.

More significant deaths occurred during winter 2014-15 and there was no lockdown then. Why did we lockdown in 2020? The immensely costly Covid-19 lockdown was NOT justified.

If you’re going to announce a pandemic, there should be some evidence. In Alberta and Canada, it is impossible to see any significant increase in total mortality to 30June2020 (2020.5) – in fact, the winter of 2014-2015 was worse.

Notes about the DataAt 30June2020 the population of Alberta was 4,421,876 and that of Canada was 37,742,154.The upward slope in both plots reflects increasing population and the average aging of populations.After a high-mortality-winter like 2014-2015, the subsequent year is typically lower-than-trend, because there are fewer very-elderly-and-infirm remaining to die the next winter. The reverse is true after a low-mortality winter, and this high-risk population is termed “dry tinder” by some analysts. As a result, the total mortality numbers tend to oscillate with time around the trend line.Alberta has a younger population than Canada and a significantly lower rate of deaths per capita.

Recently, health authorities in Canada and elsewhere have called for more stringent lockdowns due to alleged “Covid-19 “variants” that are reportedly more dangerous to younger populations. I will not comment on these variants because I have not studied them. It is notable that many European countries have not reported more total deaths during winter 2020-2021, and others have only reported minor increases in total deaths.

CONCLUSION: This Covid-19 full lockdown was never justified and has done vastly more harm than good to society - the key question is how was it possible for so many countries to discard tried-and-proven emergency plans and implement such a destructive lockdown, in response to a relatively minor threat. Who pulled the strings on this fiasco – this huge global fraud?
