TEW – Photograph your Woodturnings | Smartphone Quick Reference Guide 4-2018 1. Locate the smartphone camera: By default it is on the HOMESCREEN 2. Tap or press 1 time to open the Camera: the camera is active. The TAKE PHOTO icon is the white circle. a. On the iPhone check you are in Photo ‘mode’, the selected mode will be highlighted 3. For the Android the screen will say Auto at the top of the camera screen. Tap the first dot for the camera mode options. Tap the mode for AUTO or take a look to see the other options (selected focus is not recommended for turnings) The options are shown on the screen in the lower area: The three dots are “modes” – tap the far left one for options Red dot is to Video, White to Take a Picture and the most recently taken photo is shown in the far right circle 4. The top of the screen options are: 5. View your turning in the camera. 6. Move the piece around finding what looks best to you in the viewfinder. Check the background . 7. To take a photo, tap the white round button 1 time. 8. Press the back arrow to return to the HOME screen and locate the Photo Files: Tap the icon to open the Photo Gallery on your phone: 9. Note how the camera has filed the photos. Pictures, Albums, Stories, etc. Press on Camera Pictures to view your recent photo. Locate your just taken photo, Tap on it once time to view all the photos. 10.a. Now click the Edit icon

11. Transform to crop12. Move the white corner markers to Crop

out unwanted areas

NOTE:

Edit, Transform then Crop will change the resolution of the photo lower, yet maintain the size so you can grow/shrink it to your needs.

1. When you tap the Check to accept changes – or the X to not make the changes

2. SAVE the photo. Upper Right - It will not change the original. A copy will be made and filed next to the original.

3. Many other editing options are on your phone. 4. Explore the Setting5. SHARE – you may go to email to share or select other sources

Editing can be done with many other programs
