1. This week we are continuing to look at negative numbers. Another example of how these are used in ‘real life’ is looking at temperatures.

Jenna’s house had a temperature of 12°C. She put the heating on and the temperature rose by 8.4°C. As she was still cold, Reece decided to light a fire which increased the temperature by a further 13.8°C. What was the temperature in the house now?
