FROM THE PASTORThank you to all who stopped by this past Monday for our Drive Thru. I believe it was a success. It was great to see so many people. God supplied the Holy Water and I was able to give blessings. Please return your Festival Raffle Tickets either to the Parish Office or you can drop them in the Offertory basket at Church. If you do not have your Raffle Tickets, please stop by the Parish Office. Keep checking the bulletin and Parish website for more information about the two different online auctions we will be having the first weeks in September.

"Great is your faith" The kingdom of God that our Lord came to establish upon earth was not merely the elaborate or simple knowledge of the ways of God; rather, it was the individual acceptance of truth simply as a means of life. God teaches me about Himself so that, in the end, I may be led to a closer union with Him; it is He for whom I am created, not for faith, but for possession. The kingdom of God, therefore, is something that the individual, from the age of reason to the end of life, must continually realize for himself. He must continually hammer away at the truths of Faith, endeavoring to get more meaning out of them, to find in them the help

Thank You to the following person/business’s for their donations to the Fall Festival Virtual auctions this year:

MUSICALLY SAFEDuring our new and interesting times, we have been adjusting the music program during mass to help with providing safety for all.  Following CDC and Diocesan guidelines, we have asked members of the congregation to not sing. We have provided a cantor and accompanist to help feed our spiritual singing to the Lord and celebration of the Mass. We have removed the singing of Mass parts

from the celebration as well. In keeping with the new mask ordinance, the cantor does fall under one of the exceptions listed in section three of the emergency order:

While a single individual is giving a religious, political, media, educational, artistic, cultural, musical, or theatrical presentation for an audience, the single speaker may remove the face covering when actively speaking. While the face covering is removed, the speaker must remain at least 6 feet away from all other individuals at alltimes.

We appreciate everyone's understanding and cooperation as we continue to navigate through the pandemic. We also appreciate those who have offered their time and abilities to help provide music for the Mass by singing or playing. If you are interested in cantoring or playing the piano/organ for Mass please contact Andrea at the parish office or email [email protected]

With a presidential election coming in just months, we are all going to be given a lot of information as well as a barrage of misinformation.  Sifting it out will be arduous.  And we may wonder what kind of stand we can take as Catholics.  Well, our U.S. bishops have given us some guidelines for participation in political life; and over the next few weeks, some of those guidelines will be shared in our weekly bulletin.  The document “Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship” addresses this and says n Paragraph 11: “Some question whether it is appropriate for the Church to play a role in political life. However, the obligation to teach the moral truths that should shape our lives, including our public lives, is central to the mission given to the Church by Jesus Christ. Moreover, the United States Constitution protects the right of individual believers and religious bodies to participate and speak out without government interference, favoritism, or discrimination. Civil law should fully recognize and protect the right of the Church and other institutions in civil society to participate in cultural, political, and economic life without being forced to abandon or ignore their central moral convictions. Our nation’s tradition of pluralism is enhanced, not threatened, when religious groups and people of faith bring their convictions and concerns into public life. Indeed, our Church’s teaching is in accord with the foundational values that have shaped our nation’s history: ‘life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.’”

UNDERSTANDING YOUR COUPLE FERTILITY

Too many myths surround natural fertility awareness such as: 1) not effective; 2) too much work; 3) too expensive; 4) just Catholic contraception; 5) you name it; you’ve probably heard it from others, or even said it yourself.  The problem is:  they are just myths!  Why not find out the truths underneath those myths by attending a free introductory class on fertility awareness beginning on Saturday, August 22nd at 1 pm at the Instructor’s home—1470 Inverness Court, Reedsburg. To inquire further or to register, email:  [email protected] or call: 608-495-6117. This method is simple, yet highly effective, and works for all reproductive situations.  Especially helpful for the postpartum transition and for irregular cycles.

MOVIE NIGHTAll high schoolers are invited to come watch the movie, “The Sandlot” on Wednesday August 26th at Trinity Baptist. We will be projecting it outside so people can social distance. 8:30-11pm. This event is sponsored by the Reedsburg Area Youth Connection.
