Make sure that you take part this week as I have some special prizes this time! I hope that you are all doing lovely things at home. This weekend I visited High Force with my family. It rained and was very muddy but we had a great time none the less. It was a real adventure!

Topic- This week I would like you to complete an art task based on the work of the artist Wassily Kandinsky. There are packs for you to collect from school with resources for you to complete your art work. Your collection day is Wednesday. Please try to stick to this day to collect to allow for social distancing. Please send photos of your completed artwork to the class email address [email protected] or Tapestry.

This week is our second week of children’s art week. It was lovely to see the work that you sent in last week. Our new theme is ‘Connecting across generations’.

For this weeks’ task you will need a photo of your family or some family members to draw your own family portrait. It would be lovely if you could add some colour to them aswel!

Alternatively you could draw a family memory. All of your family could get involved in this with you. Each person needs a sheet of paper. Draw one of your favorite memories. The other members of the family need to guess what it is.

I am really excited to see these and this week I have some lovely art prizes. The winners will be announced on Friday. You will be contacted to let you know when you can come to school to collect them!

In addition here are some examples from an exhibition called ‘A stitch in time’ by the artist Deborah Andrews. Have a look at them with your grown up’s and talk about how these images may take them back to their own childhoods.
