The numerator is bigger than the denominator.

Example 32 3 is the numerator and 2 is the denominator. 3 is bigger than 2.6. Mixed Number A mixed number has a whole number and a fraction. Example 6⅞ 6 is the whole number and ⅞ is the fraction. We can convert a mixed number into an Improper Fraction. Example 6⅞ do the following calculation

6 x 8 + 7 = 55 55 is the numerator and keep the same denominator

As ek maar net geweet het

Dat tyd ons grootste vyand is

HISTORY – GRADE 7- TERM 2- E-LEARNING WORKSHEET 2

THE TRANSATLANTIC SLAVE TRADE

ACTIVITY 1: Read the following notes and answer the questions based on it

Section B: Slavery in West Africa before the Europeans Slavery was part of everyday life in African society long before European traders went to Africa. West African tribes enslaved captives when they conducted wars and raids against one another. This was one way of producing wealth in Africa and slaves became symbols of wealth. Some served as officials and servants in royal households like Mansa Musa’s palace.

Between 1235 and 1645, about one third of the population of Mali had been enslaved. Land was owned by the community and many slaves were needed to work the farms. Some of these slaves were criminals or people who had not paid their debts. Most of the slaves had certain rights: they could marry, they could inherit goods from their owners, they could even have slaves of their own. But the slaves that were taken to the distant East by Arabs did not have these rights.
