The season cycle
What does the word – Cycle means
A cycle is a series of events that happen repeatedly in the same order. Every year the seasons goes from Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring.
This cycle repeat itself year after year like in a circle.
We divide the seasons into the months of the year. We cannot put an exact date on when each cycle of the seasons start, therefore it is just more or less an indication when the next season starts.

Summer in Johannesburg.The summer days are generally pleasantly warm. The temperature rarely exceeds 30 °C. Plants are growing and everything around us is bright and green.

Autumn in Johannesburg.The days start to get cooler in March.
The leaves start to turn yellow, brown and red, and fall from the trees. Day times are still mild but the night can get chilly. The plants stop growing and go into a resting time.

Winter in Johannesburg.It does not rain during the winter.
Winters in Johannesburg are cold, with dry, sunny days and chilly nights. Plants do not grow. Frost can kill plants.
Spring in Johannesburg.During September, the days become warmer, are mildly hot and sunny. It still gets cold at night, while in October, there is often summer-like weather, warm during the day, and with the first thunderstorms. New plants start to grow again.
