1. Mental Health Forum Display Topic
The topic of our display is: #lovehasnolabels to reduce negative implications towards LGBT2Q+ members and the impacts it has on their mental health. Name for our display:

Topics to be displayed: LGBT2Q+ and Mental Health

2. Objectives: Process Objectives
1. Participation: Over the period of two hours at the Mental Health Forum, 50-60 students will engage with our booth.
2. Quality of participant engagement: Over the period of two hours at the Mental Health Forum, 10-20 students will engage in high quality conversations about our chosen mental health topic.
3. Quality of teamwork: As a part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we will perform a post-mortem on the quality of our teamwork after the Mental Health Forum has been completed
4. Qualitative Assessment of the Intervention Process: As a part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we will perform a qualitative assessment of the planning and implementation processes after the Mental Health Forum has been completed, including an assessment of what went well and what could be improved specifically pertaining to student conversations and engagement, awareness and knowledge attained by students, given resources, and the ability to spread the word to bring others to the booth.
5. Our own Process Objectives: Over the period of two hours at the Mental Health Forum, 30-40 students will be given
meaningful resources, such as pamphlets, from our booth. Over the period of two hours at the Mental Health Forum, 3-6 students will come back to
our booth with an additional person (a plus one). Prior to the start of the Mental Health Forum, on the day of, all group members will have
brought all pre-planned materials and resources.
During the weeks leading up to the Mental Health Forum, all group members will have showed legitimate effort to fulfill responsibilities.
3. Objectives: Impact Objectives
1. Impact on Participants – Awareness level: Over the period of two hours at the Mental Health Forum, students who visit our booth will be aware that mental health is an issue within the LGBT2Q+ community at Centennial College Morningside Campus.
2. Impact on Participants – Knowledge level: Over the period of two hours at the Mental Health Forum, students who visit our booth will learn about intersectionality and marginalization, stigma and discrimination, risks and negative impacts on mental health, and discrimination in the workplace.
3. Our own Impact Objectives:
Learning: o After the LGBT2Q+ pamphlet has been given to students visiting our booth, at
least 10% of students who identify as LGBT2Q+ will reach out to one or more of the organizations listed in pamphlet, in times of mental health struggles.
o After watching the Love Has No Labels video, 20% of students will change their attitudes and think twice about labelling the LGBT2Q+ community.
o In the near future, 5% of students who visited our booth, will support LGBT2Q+ initiatives at their school and in the community, by donating resources such as time, spreading the positive word, or by being in attendance.
Behavioural: o Over the period of two hours at the Mental Health Forum, students who visit our
booth will voluntarily ask for our opinions, advice, support, and resources on LGBT2Q+ and mental health
o After visiting our booth, the information will create a domino effect and the knowledge learned about the LGBT2Q+ community will be shared by students.
Environmental: o Over the period of two hours at the Mental Health Forum, our booth will provide
a safe and positive space for all students who visit our booth. We will also bring awareness to students of other safe spaces on campus such as the LGBT2Q+ and Allies Social Club, and the Centre for Disabilities and Counselling.
o After visiting the booth at the Mental Health Forum students and faculty will be aware of the need for positive and safe spaces such as LGBT2Q+ inclusive washrooms and welcoming workout gym atmospheres.
4. Objectives: Outcome Objectives
By 2018, visits to the Mental Health professionals at Centennial College Morningside Campus for LGBT2Q+ related issues will decrease by 50%.
One third of Centennial College Morningside Campus career counsellors will more specifically tailor their career counselling to the LGBT2Q+ community within the next 6 months.
In the next 3 years, 60% of students of the LGBT2Q+ community will report less medical claims to the Centennial College Morningside Campus student medical services offices.
By September 2017, both the Statement of Diversity and LGBT2Q+ Social Club pages on the Centennial College’s website will have fully updated information and news regarding the LGBT2Q+ relationship with adverse mental health.

Students will be shown celebrities and influential people who identify as LGBT2Q+ who have made efforts to reduce or bring awareness of mental health issues within the LGBT2Q+ community. The point is that LGBT2Q+ is not a limitation.
Students will be exposed to how Centennial College organizes their LGBT2Q+ section on their website and will be able to log improvements for the website.
Ability to take a picture and hashtag on social media with whiteboard from the booth to spread to the rest of the fellow students.

Emphasize that bullying is not only physical, but can also be manifested through verbal discrimination to the LGBT2Q+ community.

6. Display Content: Visual Concept

iii. Right Panel: Workplace statistics, proposed improvement, resources (maps or list our organizations?)
o Our booth will provide a mass list of available resources and organizations that the LGBT2Q+ student community can access for support.
o Students will be aware that LGBT2Q+ stigma and discrimination can impact all aspects of someone's life, most specifically the aspect of education, career choices, and workplace dynamics.

o A small handheld whiteboard with the question “what does love mean to you?” will be available for students to answer and take a picture with.
o The opportunity for students to take photos with the whiteboard will be encouraged
o At the bottom of the whiteboard will be the hashtag #lovehasnolabels, so when uploaded to social media all pictures will be compiled into the hashtag.

o Students will be able to write improvements they believe will benefit the website pages
o The improvements/petition sheets will be given to Centennial College personnel as an act of providing student input to the Centennial College website.
Popsicle Stick Faceso Figures such as celebrities and successful/impactful individuals from our past and
present will have the faces attached to popsicle sticks to show that LGBT2Q+ individuals rightfully exist in popular media.
o The hope is to empower individuals to feel belonging among influential public figures.

Pamphleto Students will be given a take-home pamphlet that will show 3 LGBT2Q+
organizations that are of benefit for the LGBT2Q+ students and all students of centennial college to make use of.
o Pamphlet will briefly summarize key knowledge and awareness points.

Hashtag hope is an internet outreach project that promotes “the idea that there can be and is hope in life” and provide support for individuals in any way possible. This organization is a great resource for students and organizations because they focus on mental health and work to spread the message that “it’s okay to not be ok”.

Centennial College The LGBT2Q+ and Allies Social Club
at Centennial College meets biweekly for LGBT2Q+ students and their allies. The meetings provide a safe, positive, and confidential space for peer support, education, and advocacy. The meetings can consist of discussions, games, guest speakers, information on supportive resources and organizations. The LGBT2Q+ and Allies Social Club at Centennial College values acceptance and respect for everyone.
