DESCRIPTION

The Presentation was submitted for the "Effective approaches to English language teaching in Libya” Conference in Tripoli- Libya- 12 March 2013. The original title of the presentation was: Engage Libyan learners: Web 2.0 Technologies in EL Classroom, because it was targeting Libyan EL teachers and educators. The presentation explains the differences between Web 1.0 & Web 2.0 and suggests 13 Web 2.0 tools to be used in ELT. About the authors 1- Nadia Nsir- idea and preparation of presentation Nsir, N. is a faculty member at Tripoli University, Libya and currently a doctoral candidate in Language, Literacy and Technology at Washington State University. She is working as an adjunct Faculty member at both Spokane Falls Community College and Gonzaga University in Washington State, USA. She is certified in TESOL, online courses instruction and integrating Web 2.0 in EL. Her research interests are the role of social media in ELT in Libya, the role of social media in sociopolitical changes in Libya. She is also interested in Critical Discourse Analysis of Libyan adolescents’ Cyberlanguage.
