WEAVING INSPIRED BY WILLIAM MORRIS (Drop in)Fun, collaborative weaving sessions with multi-media materials.

CLASSIC PERSIAN POETRY WITH SUFI MUSICPoems by Rumi and Hafez, along with an introduction to 'fal' - a Persian tradition of divination with mystic poetry.

2:30-4pm -

EXTRA SUFI DAF (FRAME DRUMMING) WORKSHOP* (Not suitable for children) An extra session exploring the meditative/spiritual tradition of the Sufi daf (frame drum) and its sacred rhythms. *There is a £4 charge for this session

4:30-5:30pm -

Weaving Together: Celebrating William Morris with Weaving, Sufi Poetry & Music Community jamboree of music, poetry and weaving. Bring a poem to read or a piece of music to perform that celebrates Morris’ ideals of beauty, togetherness and a humane society.

2 days of FREE drop-in workshops for all ages Hosted by master weaver Rezia Wahid MBE and Sufi musician Khaled Hakim. Inspired by William Morris’ passion for handicrafts, Persian music and poetry. !Winns Gallery Aveling Park Centre Lloyd Park, Winns Terrace E17 5EQ 10am - 6pm
