Job Overview

Blue Ion is looking for a mid to senior-level Web Application Developer to

work from our o�ce in Charleston, SC.

You will work on a wide variety of brands in a number of di�erent industries.

Your primary responsibilities will be to develop front and backend database

applications and tools, while using the latest standards for HTML5, CSS3, and

jQuery libraries for seamless form, function, and usability.

Blue Ion, LLC was formed 11 years ago by 3 partners in Charleston, SC.

With diverse backgrounds in Marketing Strategy, Graphic Design and

Interactive Development, we set out to build a full service digital agency.

Today, we o�er a broad range of services, including marketing strategy,

brand identity, graphic design for web and print, front/back-end web

development, database applications, eCommerce, digital marketing:

analytics, SEO, adwords, social marketing, and content development for

over 100 clients.

Our permanent home is in the heart of the Historic District downtown

Charleston. Our newly renovated, 7,000 square foot o�ce is located in a

historic building on King Street, strategically located above the Apple

store. We’ve developed an open, creative, engaging, and fun environment

for us to stretch out to work hard and play hard. We’re currently 12

full-time employees, a handful of sub-contractors, and enjoy being a

mid-sized and tight-knit group with room to grow.

Job Requirements

3+ Years Experience in web database application

development.

Mainly working in a LAMP configuration environment.

Expert knowledge working with MySQL databases.

Expert knowledge in any of the following languages and

frameworks: PHP, Perl/CGI, Ruby on Rails, Python,

CodeIgniter (the more the better).

Highly skilled in HTML5/CSS3/jQuery

Working knowledge of AJAX interactions with applications

and databases.

Capable of understanding and using many 3rd party

documented APIs.

Custom e-commerce applications using common PCI

compliance and Authorize.net payment gateway.

Must work out of our o�ce, but can work remotely if needed

during relocation.

Bonus Points

BIG BONUS for Linux System Administration or highly

comfortable in Linux environment.

Coding HTML/CSS layouts quickly, and capable of full

front-end UX development.

Magento e-commerce setup, theming, and custom

extension programming.

Highly proficient and capable in Wordpress customization.

Mobile App development for Apple iTunes and Android

Marketplace.

Proficient in Photoshop for “slicing” layouts and elements

and optimizing for web.

Should have a good eye for design, suggestions and ideas to

improve on the look and function of a site, and adding all the

little things that tighten up a project.

Have a good sense of humor, enjoying an open and

collaborative environment, good at multi-tasking, but can

focus on the work.

Take your work seriously, but with the understanding that

Top 90% salary range in the region for the job-type.
