Last week the number of ‘lates’ was very high and this
week’s even higher. Yr 2 is by far the worst class for
punctuality at the moment. Everyone has to do
be(er. Reducing the number of lates is one of our
post OFSTED Targets. Punctuality really must im-
prove. Do ensure the children are ready and in the
class lines for 8.50. If parents would like to offer any
suggesons how we can eradicate poor punctuality
please let me know. There is a suggeson box in the
recepon area. It is a huge worry that week aGer
week we have high levels of lates. We cannot begin
our journey to outstanding if we do not have be(er

Snowdog comes to St Leonard’s
St Oswald’s Children’s Hospice has teamed up with Wild in Art to stage
Tyne and Wear’s biggest ever mass-parcipaon, public art event – Great
North Snowdogs!
The interacve trail will feature more than 50 large scale Snowdog
sculptures, inspired by the much loved animated short film, The
Snowman™ and The Snowdog. During Autumn and Winter 2016 you will be
able to follow the trail, collect points with a dedicated app and to try to see
as many of the sculptures as possible.
St Oswald’s Snowdogs, beaufully decorated by arsts and generously
sponsored by local businesses, will be on show for 10 weeks from
September 2016, in locaons across Tyne and Wear. They will be joined by
a pack of li(le Snowdog sculptures designed by local school children. The
St Leonard’s Snowdog has been sponsored by Gentoo.
AGer everyone has enjoyed Great North Snowdogs during its 10-week
extravaganza, the large sculptures will be auconed to raise funds for St
Oswald’s Hospice. Our Snowdog will come home to St Leonard’s!
AGer half term we will be working, as a school, to come up with a design
for our li(le friend. A lot of our learning will be linked to
this excing project.
The Snowdogs have their own twi(er and Facebook
accounts.
