THIS MONTH’S silver starTEAM WORK=DREAM WORK

After several months of all of us being under certain restrictions, it is slowly starting to get back to our “new” normal. Instead of celebrating just one of our residents this month, I would like to celebrate you all. It has undoubtedly been the hardest four months many of us have ever had to go through with not being able to socialize, go out to the store or dinner, and most of all, not seeing our families. But we prevailed and made it through! Very slowly we are opening up the doors to civilization again and hopefully soon, we can all be together which is something I think we all look forward to. I want to thank you all for being patient and cooperative while we get through this trying time. Your health and safety were the reasons why we did what we did and thankfully we have come through unscathed. July will see more get-togethers and community events, and be assured we are still doing everything we can to keep you safe. On that note, even though some of you have ventured out, please don’t forget that you need to take precautions — wear your mask in public, stay away from large groups of people and wash your hands! If we all adhere to the guidelines, we will overcome this crisis. Thank you again for doing your best to keep us all healthy and happy.

RECAP: HOW WE STAYED CONNECTED THIS MONTH

a learning experience in juneWow, June was a month we will not soon forget. Thank goodness for technology! We had a great time setting up and doing the video chats with families and friends. Thank goodness we were finally able to visit with our families outside and social distanced — we could see them and talk to them not through a screen! We enjoyed a few games of hallway bingo and the activity cart with goodies was a big hit. I believe we have learned some lessons along the way also — how to be kind to one another, the art of giving, and a whole lot of patience. We are all grateful that summer has begun and that our flowers are blooming, and that we were able to spend Father’s Day together again. Happy times are coming. Remember to make the most of every moment.

THIS MONTH’S heart heroHOSPITALITY, EXCELLENCE, APPRECIATION, RESPECT, TEAMWORK

There is no “I” in Team and it does take a Village! During this Covid-19 ordeal, it is amazing how we have ALL worked together to get the jobs done. Yes, everyone has their job titles and expectations but through it all, we just did whatever needed done. We have all accepted the responsibility of delivering the mail, along with the groceries and meals. We have all gone above and beyond any job description to make sure that things stayed as normal as possible for our residents. We have communicated with the families on a regular basis with updates about their loved ones and the Covid-19 situation. Staff have done everything in their power to keep everyone safe and to keep up on daily changes. The Kitchen staff has worked diligently to provide good, healthy meals for our residents, and have now gotten a plan for you to pick them up still hot and yummy! Soon we will all be enjoying some social time in the Dining Room. Not only is Housekeeping cleaning the rooms, but they are also making sure the Common Areas are sanitized every day along with helping residents with chores, laundry and trash duty with all the styrofoam! We have all been put to the test and I think that we are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. It is all changing again with less restrictions than before, so we will accept those changes in stride and get the job done!

IT’S OUR PLEASURE TO SERVE YOU … word from your leadership teamNEW THINGS ARE HAPPENING!

It’s a great time to be here at Reflections. We are all glad to report that some restrictions have been lifted and many of you are able to go about your daily business with limited restrictions being observed. We are still encouraging social distancing, mask wearing and hand washing. We have been very fortunate here in Fairfield County that there have been minimal cases compared to other counties around us and we believe it is because we took steps early. Management is working on the best ways to open up the Dining while keeping with the new policies and getting you all back together for activities and entertainment. We will continue to put out the weekly updates and keep you and your families informed. Again, we appreciate everything you have all done to help us in this Covid-crisis, and we will continue to do our best to keep you informed while keeping you happy and healthy. Please don’t hesitate to come to any of us with concerns or questions.
