Entrance Hymn Before the morning star, from the womb, I have begotten You. The Lord has sworn and will not repent. You are a Priest forever in the order of Melchisedek. Save us, O Son of God, Who did rise from the dead, We sing to You: Alleluia.
Resurrectional Apolytikion (Plagal One) To the Word, coeternal with the Father and the Spirit, Born of the Virgin for our salvation, Let us, the faithful, give praise and worship. For He willed to be lifted upon the Cross in the flesh, To endure death and raise the dead By His glorious Resurrection.
Festal Apolytikia (Nativity) Your Nativity O Christ our God Has shown upon the world with the light of knowledge. And the Magi who worshiped the stars above Were in turn taught by a star To worship You the Sun of righteousness And to know You the dayspring from on high O Lord glory to You.
Apolytikion for the Ancestors of God
Annunciate the miracles to David the ancestor of God, O Joseph. You saw the Virgin pregnant. You glorified with the shepherds. You worshipped with the Magi. And you were warned by an Angel. Entreat Christ God to save our souls.
Church Hymn (Troparion of Pentecost) Blessed are You O Christ our God Who has shown the fishermen as wise men By sending down Your Holy Spirit upon them And through them, the whole world You drew into Your net O Lover of mankind, glory to You. Evlogitos i Hriste O Theos imon, O Pansofous tous aliis anadixas, Katapempsas aftis to Pnevma to agion, Ke thi afton tin ikoumenin saginefsas, Filanthrope doxa Si.
Kontakion Nativity
Today the Virgin gives birth to the Transcendent One, And the earth presents a cave to the Unapproachable One. Angels with shepherds give Him glory; Wise men follow a star as they journey to Him Who is God from all ages, Yet for our sake is born as a little Child Let the world be filled with joy, Hearing these tidings. Joining the angels and shepherds Let us give glory to Him Who is God from all ages Yet wills to be seen as a little Child.
After the Prayer of the Proskomidi I love you, O Lord my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my Savior.

EPISTLE READING: St. Paul's Second Letter to Timothy 4:5-8 For I am already on the point of being sacrificed; the time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.
GOSPEL READING: The Gospel According to St. Mark 1:1-8 The beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. As it is written in the prophets, 'Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who shall prepare your way; the voice of one crying in the wilderness: prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.' John was baptizing in the wilderness, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. And there went out to him all the country of Judea, and all the people of Jerusalem; and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins. Now John was clothed with camel's hair, and had a leather girdle around his waist, and ate locusts and wild honey. And he preached, saying, "After me comes he who is mightier than I, the thong of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. I have baptized you with water; but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."

Iconography Phase 3

Please include the Code Number on the memo line of the check. If another means of donating the funds is used, the Code Number should be either written on paper or sent in an email to avoid any confusion. When full payment is received, the icon is then considered donated and thus not available to anyone else. A display of sketches for Phase 3 is in the Founders' Walk. If a particular Saint is not included on the present list, please inform Father Bill in written form which other Saint might be considered. When Dr. Kordis begins his work, more Saints may be included.

Project Mexico 2018
Plans for our annual mission trip to Project Mexico for July 18 - 24, 2018 begin now. A 15 person team led by Joe Pavia will improve the living conditions of families by building them a home and also interacting with the children at Saint Innocent Orphanage. Joe Pavia encourages Altar Boys and Narthex Servers along with their parent(s) or any Parishioner to consider participating in this life-impacting experience. The trip can be a wonderful gift for an Altar Boy or Narthex Service at this time of year. The Missions Committee partially subsidizes the trip for those who participate in fundraising. Please contact Joe Pavia for more details.
