Micropower = small-scale energy with local generation and distribution. It means kW, not MW, and a decentral-ized architecture.
OMC builds, operates and owns Micropower Plants™ that extract clean energy from sun, wind and biogas. The Micropower Plants also have a battery bank, diesel generators for backup and a power management system for optimal energy efficiency and remote access.
The choice of renewable energy is entirely business-driven – we use whatever power source that makes best financial sense for every Micropower Plant, for the benefit of our customers.
THE SOLUTION = MICROPOWER
We only use proven technology. OMC is a power company, not a technology company. We exclusively use battle-tested components that can perform in the challenging environ-ments of rural areas in emerging markets.
Micropower for telecom enables micropower for communities – we power our telecom customer’s sites, and at the same time extend power provisioning into the communities.
For telecom customers, we run a power cablefrom the Micropower Plant to the telecom base station, and power is sold at an agreed price per kWh.
For community customers, power is sold ondemand through a community entrepreneurthat charges and rents out lanterns, power boxes and other power utility products.
