ADULT ENRICHMENT CLASS – Sundays, 11:30am – Opal Room – ‘An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power’ led by Rev. Mike Eggleston. We'll view some cuts from the original "An Inconvenient Truth," during the class, make use of study materials, and seek to gain updates on the environmental materials in both movies. All are invited (even if you don’t watch the movie). Bring your hot dogs and ice cream with you to the Opal Room for the final gathering of this class. COMMUNITY DINNERS – 1st and 3rd Mondays, 5:00pm – 6:00pm – Fellowship Hall – The next dinner night is October 2nd. For more information on how you can be involved, contact Pastor G at [email protected]. HOME GROUP – You now have two opportunities to attend a home group each week: Mondays at 6:30pm with Jeff Manildi or Thursdays at 6:30pm with Mike Eggleston. WORLD COMMUNION SUNDAY – Special Offering – Sunday, Oct 1 – Gifts to World Communion Sunday fund graduate racial-ethnic World Communion Scholarships, with at least one-half of the annual amount reserved for ministries beyond the United States. Donations also provide for undergraduate U.S. Ethnic Scholarship and Ethnic In-Service Training programs. BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS – Sunday, Oct 8 – We conclude the Season of Creation by celebrating all the animals. Pastor G will say a blessing over our beloved companions during the worship service. Small, well-behaved pets are welcome to attend the service. If you would like your larger pets to receive a blessing, you may email a photo to Jeff Manildi at [email protected] by Friday, October 6. Don’t forget to include your pet’s name in the email. NEW VCC DIRECTOR – Village Children’s Center continues to provide quality childcare to our community even through times of change. Please join us in welcoming Bonnie Luther as the new director at VCC. TUTORING OPPORTUNITIES – In addition to the morning reading time, Monarch Grove Elem also has an after school group of English Learners, M-Th, 2:45 pm. Volunteers would tutor under the supervision of the English Learner teacher as students read or work on other elementary school subjects. If you are available to tutor any morning or after school, please pick up a packet in our church office. COFFEE HOUR – Sundays, 11:15am – Join us in the Fellowship Hall after worship on Sundays for refreshments and conversation. Relax as you meet new people and catch up with long-time friends.
COMING SOON RUMMAGE SALE – Saturday, Nov 4, 8:00am-2:00pm – Village Children’s Center is having a rummage sale! Save your collections to donate to the sale. Details about when and where to bring donations will follow soon.
