HMK Computer Technologies GmbH was founded in 1995 by Dipl.-Ing. Helmut Mühl-Kühner in Kronberg near Frankfurt/Main. For more than 10 years HMK has been working together with strategic partners in the area of storage and data management.

Our target market lies in Germany, the core countries in Europe, and the USA. A side from our headquarter in Kronberg there are four other offices in Germany. The goal is to keep increasing data volume affordable, prevent it against loss and ensure it is available at all times.

We assist you with the conception, choice of product and implementation of overall solutions.

ArchivingThe storage and provisioning of informations is mandatory for the operation of companies and organisations. It is important using tools for that purpose to support the most important programs as mail (Exchange, Notes, UNIX), SAP, Sharepoint Portal, etc., but also unstructered data files or data from NAS filers. Since your data has to be archieved and processed to legal compliance requirements you have to address within your ILM strategy – and we support you with concepts and implementing them.

Backup & RecoveryOur backup tools are the ideal solution, i.e. also for distributed environments, to reduce your risk of data loss – checking it against your Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO). This allows you a fast access on business critical data. We help you to reduce your backup cost and increase your admin efficiency by volume-based licensing (after deduplication and compression) and no costs for clients. Backup to Disk reduces your restores to an optimum. Complete encryption of your data allows you to bulid up a compliance ready installation even for several customers.

We support you by evaluating your business requirements – our professional solutions are based on conceptual planning and project organization. Together, we create multivendor solutions, which protect your critical information and guarantee availability and show potential cost savings.

Data & Resource Management (DRM)The enormous growth rate of data on distributed systems can only be limited if it is well known, which data use how many re-sources, how they behave and which data are really active. DRM shows you potential cost savings by an analysis and monitoring (all systems like servers, disks, tapes, SW, etc. are supported). The result is a classification and quantification of all your data that can be moved into different storage tiers.

For server-centric environments and well structured data (often block level access) the solution is a performant HSM System, for user-centric requirements (shared data, file level access) often a NAS solution is the better system.

Storage HardwareBesides our focus on specialized storage topics we provide you within a complete solution also hardware like servers, disks or tape robots, included in the concept we do for you. In addition we can offer you specialized storage hardware for special storage tiers within an ILM architecture like SSD (the fastest on the market) or MAID (highest storage density at lowest energy consumption for backup and archive data).
