WE LOVE STURGEON FALLS – OCTOBER 2016 We Love Sturgeon Falls Fest was the most fantastic day! Many people were in prayer for that day and Jesus did not disappoint. We started the day off with a beautiful time of worship then everyone was hard at work for the rest of the day. While many were at the local high school getting the carnival ready. The rest were at our community centre planning for our Capes and Tiara’s party, setting up our free winter clothing store and cooking for our Feast. Everyone worked so hard; I was overwhelmed at times. At 1pm all events began. We had a group of children go to our local old age home and hospital to sing to those living there. The elderly were beyond pleased. Our Capes and Tiara’s was fantastic. The children came dressed as beautiful princesses and handsome super hero’s. The kids enjoyed cupcakes, a story, crafts and cool pictures!! The free winter clothing store didn’t last very long. People were showing up early and most items were gone within the first hour! Praise God! Because of the weather we had to bring the carnival inside. We thought it was going to hinder the amount of people that would come. But it didn’t at all! Hundreds of families came and enjoyed our free carnival. People could not understand why we would do this all for free. We just kept telling them because we love our community and so does Jesus. Once all of the festivities of the day were done we all gather back at the complex for our feast! This is where we were most blown away. Hundreds of hungry community members were there to enjoy a turkey feast. What a blessing! And last but not least we ended our day back at the high school for our West Nipissing Police Department vs. Our local Teenagers Basketball game. What fun they had. I was overjoyed with all the people who volunteered, with those who so generously donated to our event and overwhelmed by the presence of God throughout the event.
