Welcome to Beloit First Chris an Church (BFCC) We are glad you’re here and pray you will experience God’s presence and love. We believe accep ng and living in a right, loving rela onship with God through Jesus Christ is the most important decision you will ever make. The Bible tells us: “And this is what God has tes fied: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.” (1 John 5:11‐12) Jesus Christ preached the “Gospel” (good news) of his coming and called everyone to: Repent from our sin—that is, reject and turn away from our old desires and ac ons of self‐righteousness and self‐indulgence that separate us from God and the life He has for us. To repent is to admit we need a Savior and to look to Him in trust. 

Believe that Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross offers full forgiveness for our sins, and convincingly demonstrates God’s deep, ac ve love for us. 

Follow Jesus, who rose from the dead and lives forever. Through the Holy Spirit, the life of Christ in us brings new life, a transforma on of our desires, and the power to live obediently to God’s Word for all who put their faith and trust in him.

Announcements NOVEMBER 12 (today) — A new Sunday morning small group for women is 

beginning! This small group is open to all women and will meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in the Church Library to study through the book of James. The study will be led by Leni Smith and Leann Wehrman. Don’t miss this opportunity to build rela onships with others as you grow in your faith!

Christmas Child: Opera on Christmas Child demonstrates God's love to children in need worldwide by delivering gi ‐filled shoeboxes and the good news of Jesus Christ! Feel free to take one or more boxes, sign the list, and then bring your filled boxes back to BFCC according to the following schedule: November 13‐17 from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; November 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; November 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Please return all boxes by Sunday, November 19 by 8:00 p.m. for packing and 

delivery to Salina on November 19.

NOVEMBER 20‐26 — Meals on Wheels drivers needed! BFCC is scheduled to deliver Meals on Wheels the week of November 20‐26. If you are available even one day, this is a great way to serve Jesus by serving others: “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” (Ma hew 25:40) A sign‐up sheet is located at the Welcome 

Center, or you may contact Karen Buser (7569‐1212) with any ques ons.  DECEMBER 3 — Potluck meal for everyone, followed by a Congrega onal Vo ng 

Mee ng: Come and bring a dish to share as we provide a main dish of pulled pork for a meal together of fellowship at 12 noon. A er the meal we’ll have the Congrega onal Vo ng mee ng for members to vote on the 2018 nominees for ministry posi ons, and the 2018 church budget. The list of nominees and proposed budget will be available at the Welcome Center a er the November 19th board mee ng. 

 DECEMBER 4 — “Ques ons and Conversa on” This informal  me of open discussion 

is led by Pastor Cliff and takes place in Fellowship Hall on the first Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. This is not a pre‐programmed study, but rather a place where your ques ons become the topic of conversa on in a safe, accep ng atmosphere. This group is open to everyone. Bring your ques oning co‐worker or friend! 

 DECEMBER 10 — Sunday School Christmas Program at 3:00 p.m. in the church 

sanctuary. All Sunday School students are beginning to prac ce during their regular Sunday School classes for their roles in the annual Sunday School Christmas Program. Students should arrive Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. sharp to start prac cing for our celebra on of baby King Jesus. You won’t want your kids to miss this opportunity! Sunday School runs every Sunday morning between the two worship services, from 9:30 

a.m. to 10:15 a.m. There are classes for every age.

Announcements Pray with us regarding this important need: Leader(s) needed to host a DivorceCare 

support group here at BFCC. Most people will tell you that separa on and divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences they’ve ever faced. It’s a confusing  me when you feel isolated and have lots of ques ons about issues you’ve never faced before. DivorceCare groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and 

move toward rebuilding your life. Each session has two dis nct elements. For the first 30‐40 minutes of a mee ng, a video seminar is presented featuring top experts on divorce and recovery subjects. Then, a er viewing the video, DivorceCare group par cipants spend  me as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar, and what is going on in the lives of group members. There is also a separate group that meets at the same  me called, “DivorceCare for Kids” that helps children learn how to work through the hurt of divorce. We have someone who is currently praying and considering leading DivorceCare for Kids, but we need a leader(s) for the adult DivorceCare group. If you are interested, please contact any of the pastors. Thank you for listening for God’s promp ng!  Mitchell County Food Pantry special needs this month are: stove‐top dressing, canned 

pumpkin, cake mix, cranberry, bar soap. These or other non‐perishable items may be dropped at the Food Pantry (12th and Walnut Streets) on Tuesday mornings from 9:00—11:00 a.m., or brought to the church and put in the collec on box in the north hallway of the Educa on wing.

Welcome New Members Dave and Lori Cordel! Dave and Lori Cordel recently joined BFCC in membership on November 5, 2017. Membership is an outward sign of the Holy Spirit’s work to connect people in the Body of Christ, and so we give God thanks for bringing Dave and Lori to us. We asked them to answer a few ques ons so you can get to know them be er.  What people or circumstances were helpful in leading you to know Jesus Christ and accept his as your Savior and Lord? Dave: I accepted the Lord in April, 1975. It was by the working of the Holy Spirit on me, and through my wife and mother‐in‐law at that  me. They told me that it was not easy, as I was a very dedicated Catholic. Lori: Ini ally my grandmother and my husband. I was privileged to have my husband bap ze me.  Where have you lived over the course of your life, and how did you come to live in North Central Kansas? Dave: A er gradua ng from college I returned to the farm as dad was very ill. As things started to turn around, my two brothers joined me and con nued to grow the farm in the Tipton and Cawker City area. My wife and I lived on a farm north of Cawker City, and as we moved toward re rement, we moved to Beloit. Lori: I grew up in Tipton, lived in Hays for 25 years, and moved back here when I married Dave 23 years ago.  What ini ally a racted you to BFCC, and what encouraged you to con nue a connec on with us? Dave: My brother Robert was a member of BFCC and always spoke highly of the ministry and pastor Cliff. At the death of my brother, we felt an incredible sense of God’s love and acceptance, and started to a end the church. We feel that BFCC is open to the opera on of the gi s of the Holy Spirit in greater detail, and want to be a

part of the New Testament move of the Holy Spirit. Lori: I had several friends who a ended BFCC and they always spoke highly of it. I love the warm and accep ng atmosphere of Jesus’ love being demonstrated.  Tell us about your work, talents, and interests: Dave: Not being fully re red, most of my  me is spent on the farm management. I plan to move into full re rement soon as I sense a mandate from the Lord to make myself ready for more ministry work. I like to BBQ and smoke meats, as well as baking and cooking. I like to fish and plan on doing that with some life long friends, and new, too. Lori: Recently re red as secretary of Lakeside Elementary in Cawker. I enjoy sewing/quil ng, scrapbooking, card making, and decora ng my home. Also love reading.  Name a few favorite books, movies, or experiences: Dave: I am not an avid reader, however the books that I do read deal with teaching and expounding on the Gospel, the good news about the good things of Christ. Lori: I own the en re collec on of Danielle Steele books. I also love Karen Kingsbury, and many other authors.  Is there anything else about yourself that might help people get to know you be er? Dave:  I like to be around people, places, and things that are moving in step with the Spirit of God. I strongly believe in a personal rela onship with our Heavenly Father through faith in Christ Jesus. I do not like religion, as there is never any forward movement in the things of God. Our heavenly Father has given us His Spirit, that by Him we can come to Him and receive help in our  me of need. It is by the Spirit that we cry, “Abba, Father.” Lori: I am a shy person un l I get to know you.

Welcome New Members Jason and Julia Rabe! Jason and Julia Rabe recently joined BFCC in membership on November 5, 2017. Membership is an outward sign of the Holy Spirit’s work to connect people in the Body of Christ, and so we give God thanks for bringing Jason, Julia, Kaden, Kiera, and Kael to us. We asked Jason and Julia to answer a few ques ons so you can get to know them be er.  What people or circumstances were helpful in leading you to know Jesus Christ and accept his as your Savior and Lord? Jason: My grandma led me to the Lord at the age of 5. She told me the story of Jesus and the li le children, and how he called them to him. He cared for them. The next story was how Jesus wept over Jerusalem and how they would betray him. These two stories highlighted in my young mind that Jesus loves me, and that I was a sinner. Julia: As a young child (5 years old), a Sunday School teacher taught me the Gospel and led me to the Lord.  Where have you lived over the course of your life, and how did you come to live in North Central Kansas? Jason: I was born in Indiana where my dad managed a large farm and John Deere dealership. At the age of eight we moved to Minnesota, where I grew up. My parents owned a Case IH dealership, and lived un l I graduated college. Upon marriage, my wife and I lived in Minnesota for a few years before moving to Fairfax, Iowa as I con nued my career in banking. Here I also got into municipal government which then brought the opportunity to move to Beloit, KS! Julia: Born and raised in Dallas, Texas. I went to college in Greenville, South Carolina and met Jason. We were married and lived in Minnesota, then Iowa. We moved to Beloit one year ago for Jason’s job.

What ini ally a racted you to BFCC, and what encouraged you to con nue a connec on with us? Jason: Reviewing the website showed me BFCC believed many of the same things I did. Upon visi ng we knew this was the church family for us. People were friendly, caring, loved God, and wanted to serve our community. Julia: The people! The Christ‐focused atmosphere and preaching. We were welcomed and encouraged to par cipate in God’s work!  Tell us about your work, talents, and interests: Jason: I work as a city manager, so there is rarely a dull moment. Work is always interes ng, challenging, and sa sfying. I enjoy staying ac ve whether it is working out, biking, running, basketball, or coaching youth sports. My favorite hobby is my family! Julia: I have been a SAHM for nearly 10 years. I am blessed to be able to do this. Before children, I was an interior designer. I s ll love design and making spaces beau ful! I love to travel and teach Bible studies  Name a few favorite books, movies, or experiences: Jason: I really enjoy historical books, including books on the founding of our country and military history. A favorite movie is Cinderella Man, which is about a washed up boxer during the Great Depression who fights through adversity to win again. Julia: I enjoy leadership books, devo onal books, and worship music.  Is there anything else about yourself that might help people get to know you be er? Jason: I have a beau ful Texas girl that married me 13 years ago, Julia, and three great kids — Kaden (9), Keira (7), and Kael (4). Julia: I am a health and wellness coach and love to help people with their nutri on and wellness goals. I love my family and am blessed to do life with my faithful husband, Jason, and three beau ful kids, Kaden, Keira, and Kael.

Kid’s Church takes place each Sunday during the 10:30 worship service. All students in Kindergarten through 4th grade are invited to join us upstairs in the youth room as we learn more about God’s word and His plan for us!

Wednesday, November 15th, will be the last CLASH of the Fall 2017 Session. The students will sing and dance to some of their CLASH songs as well as go over some of what they’ve been learning. The church is providing a meal for all parents and students after the program. CLASH begins at 6:00 with the meal starting around 6:30
