Public health role

School nurses are trained in public health and have knowledge of factors that affect children’s health such as obesity, mental health problems and bullying.

We work closely with other services and the local community to help children to reach their full potential.

• Health drop-ins – we run monthly sessions for children and their parents within our primary schools. We also run weekly sessions for young people in secondary schools.
