Dear Advisor,The 2018-2019 school year is upon us, and I want to personally welcome you as a member of the National Speech & Debate Association!Our entire team at the NSDA is excited to support you and your students. My personal hope for your school is that you find the resources we offer meaningful to meeting your goals for your program. We want the tools we produce to make your life easier and assist you in providing access to speech and debate to more students. As you embark on this season, we suggest you take advantage of our staff’s favorite resources:• Topic analyses for debate events with research guides are perfect for introducing students to the

topics.• Final round videos showcase the best of the best and can help you recruit new team members or

introduce advanced strategies to returning students. • Monthly practice Extemp questions support students’ exploration of current events and decrease

your time in thinking up challenging and timely questions.• Congressional Debate dockets supplement your classroom instruction or make the job of hosting a

tournament easier.The best part of membership in the NSDA—you have access to thousands of additional resources at your disposal! These items have been developed by our staff from feedback we have received over the years from coaches and educators like you. To enhance your professional development, we launched a new online portal last year for educators to access meaningful resources. We are so excited about the engagement we have seen from coaches like you. If you have not taken advantage of this portal, I would encourage you to do so this year. As a speech and debate coach, you may not have anyone else in your building to connect with for professional development and growth. Our portal helps connect you to individuals across the nation.
