School Leadership Team: We are at the end of another wonderful and busy
term at Parklea Public School.
Throughout this term, the school has provided
many wonderful opportunities for students to
participate in sport, dance and music. Students
have participated in Debating competitions,
Choir rehearsals and Multicultural Public
Speaking. The school also held its K-6 Cross
Country, P&C Mother’s Day Stall, working bee
and K-6 ‘black and white’ themed disco.
Thank you to our families and community for your
continued support in everything we do and our
exceptional teaching and administration staff for
continuing to provide a wealth of opportunities
for students to ‘be their best’.
FAREWELL: We would like to wish Mrs Gibb and Mrs Lawrence
all the best as they prepare for motherhood over
the next month.
Today, we say farewell to Ms
Bandiera, who is an integral part
of our Parklea teaching team.
Miss Bandiera is further expanding
her dance studio, ‘Phoenix
Dance’. We wish her all the best!
TERM 3 SCHOOL RESUMES: Just a friendly reminder that students return to
school on Monday 17th July and continue to wear
their full winter school uniform.
ROAD SAFETY: Please be aware that
‘Safety Patrols’ around
our school have been
taking place and will
continue to take place
next term. This is due to high amounts of traffic
congestion. Patrol officers are also ensuring
drivers are vigilant with road safety.
It would be appreciated, as we move into the
holidays, that everyone takes extra care around
our school.
Thank you for your continued support!

We are Safe, Respectful, Learners!
at the work they produce as well as informal and
formal class assessments.
Teachers compare students’ achievement
against the expectations described in each Key
Learning Area (KLA) syllabus document and
measure student achievement against a five
point scale (Years 1 to 6 only):
Outstanding
High
Grade
Low
Minimal
Reports are provided to families twice a year and
include a written comment with strengths and
areas for improvement for all KLAs.
Parklea Public School values parents participating
in their child’s learning and progress. We
encourage parents to contact their child’s class
teacher and arrange an interview should you wish
to discuss any aspect of your child’s report.
TERM 3 PARENT CALENDAR: A parent calendar for Term 3 has been included
in this newsletter. It will be uploaded to our
school’s website and App early next term.
PAYMENT OF MONEY: Due to our large number of students and time
taken to process payments, we encourage
parents to be vigilant with payment due dates as
money cannot be accepted after the payment
date.
There are a number of options to assist parents
with making last minute payments. These include;
Parent Online Payments (POP). Please check the
bottom of your child’s permission and payment
note for these details. For busy working parents,
POP will enable you to pay online before the cut-
off date.
We thank you in anticipation for your support!
K-2 ASSEMBLY CHANGE:
As a result of Open Day and
our P&C’s Father’s Day Stall, K-
2 Assembly Days have been
moved to Tuesday 1st August
and Tuesday 29th August at
12:45pm.
A note about these changes will come home
early next term.
OPEN DAY VISIBLE LEARNING COFFEE CLUB: On Thursday 3rd August at 8:45am in our school’s
staffroom, our Visible Learning Team will be
conducting a parent information session on
‘Assessment Practices and Student Goal Setting’.
All parents and the community are welcome to
attend this highly worthwhile and informative
session. The session will conclude at 9:15am,
which allows time for parents to visit K-2
