The Ridgeons Group appointed us to develop its new brand ‘PlumbStock’. Thanks to that success, we were then appointed to create and deliver PR and social media for Ridgeons too.

Aptar Pharma is a world leader in the delivery of innovative drug delivery systems to pharmaceutical, consumer healthcare and biotech customers.

We are at the sharp end of injectable drug delivery

The strategy was built around maximising the extraordinary level of IP held and converting it into engaging, compelling content that added value to our audience, inspired them to do something new, and tell their industry peers.

From a rational perspective, we needed to leverage Aptar Pharma’s core brand equity – when you deal with Aptar Pharma, you should expect excellence. Our emotional pitch was built on our ability to enable our audiences to access intelligence – when you deal with Aptar Pharma you will benefit from insightful, incisive thinking.

Because Aptar Pharma delivers devices for a range of therapy areas including nasal, pulmonary, dermal, eye care and injectables, the target audience is diverse. R&D, Business Development, Brand Management, Material Management and Quality all have an influence on the choice of device partner.

Our research told us that the injectables market drivers could be summarised in one word: Quality. Quality in R&D, in customer

insight, and in product solutions. Pharma customers are facing complex challenges, from increased regulatory requirements to internal developments of sensitive drug formulations – challenges that Aptar Pharma was well placed to address – we just needed to tell people!

Our proposition: True experts love a challenge

‘Isn’t our industry all about taking on challenges and pushing boundaries? Imagine just how dull life would be if we never tried to be better? Settling for the perceived standard is essentially settling for second best, and no-one can afford to do that. Rest assured, taking on a complex injectable challenge doesn’t have to be a risk.’

We created a range of content, from thought leadership to white papers and technical features, all demonstrating how brave Aptar Pharma was. We challenged perceptions about what great looked like, the criteria for the selection of a device partner, and quality standards.

With the limited time resource within the marketing team, we needed an original approach to get the machine moving. So, we identified and recruited several content champions – experts in their field that could give us the insights and information we

needed to create compelling content. The benefits of this approach were wide-ranging. It created new advocates for marketing within the business and reinvigorated people’s perceptions of what marketing could do for them. It enabled advocates to see their thinking realised ‘in print’ with very little effort required, whilst reducing the reliance on the marketing team. We rapidly engaged a wider community within the business and captured a wider range of authentic content.

Top line results

• We recruited 31 content champions, and in turn we achieved our aims of changing internal perceptions and encouraging them to think and act differently. As a result, we generated 65 content ideas and created 38 authentic articles and press releases

• 54 pieces of global PR coverage were achieved through distributed content

• 367 professionals registered to a Connected Health focused Aptar Pharma webinar which was marketed through PR and social media

• Content produced for LinkedIn resulted in 1176 post likes and 14 post comments

• Content produced for Twitter resulted in 57 re-tweets and 74 likes.

CASE STUDY: POLYGON

Polygon work in a regulated environment and they are one of our more technical clients. For Polygon, we operate as a full service agency including PR and implement our Opportunities to Engage model.

They had no core brand proposition and no consistency for message and style. A brand identity including the ‘Always By Your Side.’ proposition was rolled out globally.

We created a new brand name and with that change we created a new suite of materials that was inexpensive to produce, simple to amend and supported the strategic conviction to focus on customer intimacy (this was delivered in their 8 core languages).

In 2017, we delivered 1,537 projects for the group, with an average project cycle time of three days.

CASE STUDY: BESPAK

Bespak delivers highly complex drug delivery devices, and have to comply with strict legislation.

Bespak found that they were always regarded as a manufacturer, with its formulation, concept creation and other core IP being dismissed.

We were appointed to undertake a brand review, with the objective of delivering a stronger brand that would provide focus and definition for both internal and external audiences.

The new brand identity was rolled out to include stationary, signage, a new website etc and was all supported by extensive PR, advertising and direct mail campaigns.

Together, we had achieved an extremely successful PR campaign. We achieved £470,000 worth of PR coverage with a £59,000 budget.
