pASTORAL SERVICES AppEAL pRAYER
Heavenly Father,
With gratitude for Your abundant blessings, we open our hearts in service to others. Help us to proclaim our faith joyfully, to speak clearly and tenderly about our values and to live with a giving heart. Empower us to witness the transformational power of Your love in our neighborhoods, parishes, schools and homes. Grant us the grace to accomplish together, as a family of Catholics, the many things we could not do alone.
Amen.

WE ARE ONE
Each year in the Diocese of Orange, there is a unique opportunity to say we are one. We know we are many, and we are remarkably diverse. All of our communities have a distinctive and welcoming presence, and our parishes are made up of people from many cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Yet, we are one.
pROUD TO bE CATHOLIC
The people of the Diocese of Orange are one family, proud to be Catholic. Catholics joyfully proclaiming our faith, speaking clearly and tenderly about our values and living with a loving and giving heart. Catholics who are ready to demonstrate the transformational power of our faith as we meet Christ every day in the workplace and our neighborhoods, in our parishes, schools and homes. We celebrate our unity as a Catholic community, accomplishing together many things we could not do alone, as One Body in Christ.
THE pASTORAL SERVICES AppEAL
The annual Pastoral Services Appeal invites everyone to celebrate God’s abundance and to open our hearts in service to others. A gift to the appeal will enliven our Gospel values in concrete ways. Every gift makes a difference.
WE ARE ONEEssential services and ministries in our 62 parishes are possible, in part, because of your support of the PSA. Catechists, liturgical ministers and lay leaders serve God’s people in parishes and through programs such as the Restorative Justice Ministry and the Catholic Deaf Community.
“ i am so proud to be Catholic, and i try to represent Jesus in everything that i do – in my work, in my play and in my volunteer efforts at my parish.”
– angelica suaceda Garcia, lay minister st. Boniface parish
Your support will enliven Catholic education, helping to provide ongoing formation for our priests and deacons, adult catechesis for lay leaders, and religious education programs for youth and young adults.
“ i can see that we are one because we are united as brothers and sisters in Christ. We truly are one… one Church, one Body in Christ.”
– Josh nguyen, Chair of the finance Council Christ Cathedral parish
“ in our community, we have many different languages, traditions and ways to praise and worship. it is a beautiful challenge to come together as one… it is what we are called to do – to be one in Christ.”
– oscar moreno, seminarian intern diocese of orange
With your help, we reach out to the poor and vulnerable in our community. Your response will provide support to Catholic Charities, which serves more than 166,000 people in need each year.
A MESSAGE FROM THE bISHOp
If we take a few minutes to look at the Gospel, we quickly learn Jesus’ simple message – follow me and go tell the Good
News to the world. We cannot escape the fact that, as Catholics, we have a mission to accomplish.
It is a simple and joyful mission of loving one another. This is what it means to follow Jesus and to respond to his call to be sent into the world – a world filled with hurt and hope, heartbreak and blessings, conflict and peace.
WE ARE ONE family as the Diocese of Orange. We have been blessed with many gifts, and we find strength and beauty in our diversity. We celebrate our faith joyfully and make a sacrificial offering of our gifts in service to others.
The annual Pastoral Services Appeal invites us to boldly embrace the call to be sent, to deepen our commitment to Jesus, as we grow in charity. Your support is a powerful witness to our community that we are one – one in faith, one in love, one in service, one Body in Christ.
Gratefully yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Kevin W. VannBishop of Orange
