We’ll keep you in the loop throughout the admissions process and make sure you’re prepared for your first day as an official Brock student. Updates and information will be posted regularly at brocku.ca/discover. You’ll also receive regular emails from Discover Brock to ensure that you don’t miss any important dates or deadlines – be sure to check often.

02 Activate your my.brocku.ca portal

If you haven’t done so already, activate your my.brocku.ca portal as soon as possible. Refer to brocku.ca/discover for instructions. You’ll access this portal to check your admission status, monitor any required documents, apply for residence, awards and bursaries, register for your courses, and pay your fees.

03 Accept your offer of admission

We can’t wait to welcome you to Brock. Accept your offer of admission to Brock University at ouac.on.ca or my.brocku.ca (whichever is applicable) by the date specified in your admission letter. If you are an international student, you’ll need to submit your $1,000 tuition deposit (non-refundable) by the same date.

Applicants from Ontario secondary schools must accept their offer of admission by June 1, 2021. Please note that all conditions related to your offer of admission are clearly outlined in your Offer of Admission letter. Please review these conditions carefully and retain the letter for future reference.

04 International students: apply for your study permit

International students must apply for a study permit (visa) from an appropriate Canadian embassy, high commission or consulate. Visit brocku.ca/international for more information.

05 Share your excitement

Connect with us and with other new Badgers on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat. You can ask questions, meet other new students, and receive information about new opportunities, deadlines and events. You can also show your Brock pride with custom banners for your online profiles. 06 Participate in a guided tour

If you haven’t done so already, be sure to visit our beautiful campus. Whether online or in-person, our student ambassadors will personally guide you through classrooms, residences, recreation spaces and other areas of interest. 07 Claim your space in residence

Live in one of Brock’s convenient and welcoming residences.

In the Fall term, Brock’s residences opened at reduced capacity to allow for physical distancing and to allow for other measures recommended by government and public health officials. Limited space may be available for those beginning studies in January 2021. Please visit brocku.ca/residence for deadlines and availability. Please note that the majority of classes will continue to be held online during the Winter term.

Brock hopes to guarantee a space in residence to all new full-time undergraduate students beginning in Fall 2021, who meet our residence application conditions. A full summary of conditions and criteria may be found at brocku.ca/residence prior to the residence application opening.

08 Apply for awards and bursaries

One application – more than $1 million available in awards and bursaries. Simply complete our OneApp to be considered for awards valued up to $20,000 and bursaries up to $3,000. Apply early to increase your eligibility.

Are you an exceptional student and a leader in your school and community? Students applying to full-time studies directly from secondary school may apply for our Brock Leaders Citizenship Award as well – our most prestigious award which includes induction into the Brock Leaders Citizenship Society. International students may also apply for our International Student Ambassador Awards.

09 Create a budget

10 Ontario students - apply for OSAP

If you’re planning to apply for the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP), do so after accepting your offer to ensure that your OSAP entitlement is ready when you start school. Visit osap.gov.on.ca for details.

11 Apply to Law Plus or Med Plus

These co-curricular programs will give you maximum exposure to your field of interest as well as the experience you’ll need to be successful. Each program involves volunteer opportunities, a speaker series and observational visits, job shadowing, skill development workshops, mentorship and program advising. These four-year non-credit programs will run concurrently with your academic studies. Learn more at brocku.ca/ccee/career-education and submit your application by April 15, 2021.

12 Aboriginal students – self-identify with Brock Aboriginal Student Services

Aboriginal Student Services provides academic and cultural support specifically tailored for Aboriginal students. Our goal is to assist all Status or Non-Status self-identified Aboriginal students (inclusive of First Nations, Metis, and Inuit students) in making a positive transition to the Brock community.

Our self-identified Aboriginal students have access to supports and services such as: Elder-in-Residence, guiding circles career planning, writing circles, numeracy circles, tutoring, workshops, academic referrals, one-on-one consultations, access to an exclusive computer lab, extended after hours lounge access, a resource library, and specific awards and bursaries.

Transferring from another college or university? Attending as a mature or part-time student? Book an appointment with your academic adviser as soon as possible to begin planning your academic career. 15 Plan your transition to university life

We want to make your new Brock experience the best it can be. Start planning for your transition with our orientation programs.

Join us for Smart Start, our academic orientation for new students (parents and supporters also welcome). You’ll confirm your course schedule, receive information about financing your education, learn about academic success options, and get to know our beautiful campus. Special sessions are offered for transfer students and for those coming to Brock from outside of Ontario.

Looking for a personalized, small-group orientation experience? Led by student leaders, LEAP provides an opportunity in the summer months to make new friends and connections while volunteering in the community, exploring the campus, and spending a night in residence.

Finish your summer with a Brock BaseCamp adventure – backpacking, canoeing and rock climbing trips for incoming students. You’ll learn from upper-year student mentors and have new friends and stories to last a lifetime following this unique experience.

19 Plan to continue your orientation with BU4U

BU101: Prepare for your academics and complete the BU101 course on Sakai, the home of your online academic courses. BU101 is an 8-hr free, non-credit, asynchronous online academic skills program to build your technology, scheduling, notetaking, and studying skills. Additional lessons help you prepare for university science, math, statistics, and academic writing.

Engagement Communities: Engagement communities bring together small groups of incoming students from the same Faculty, similar academic programs and personal interests. Your Peer Mentor and your Engagement Community will help ensure you have an exceptional first year experience.

First Year Experience: A program to help incoming Brock students get involved outside the classroom through engagement in a variety of co-curricular experiences. Your Peer Mentors within your Engagement Community will connect you to people, events, involvement opportunities, resources and services to support your success.
