IFFGreenhill has advised International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) on the merger of IFF and DuPont’s Nutrition & Biosciences (“N&B”) business in a Reverse Morris Trust transaction. The transaction values N&B at$26.2bn and implies an enterprise value of $45.4bn for the combined company.

This represents the third announced transaction that Greenhill has advised IFF on (following the acquisition of Frutarom ($7.1 billion enterprise value) in 2018 and Fragrance Resources Group in 2016).

GlaxoSmithKlineGreenhill has advised GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), the UK’s leading pharmaceutical company, on three transformational transactions: i) the buyout of Novartis’ stake in their Consumer Health Joint Venture for $13bn; ii) the divestiture of Horlicks and other consumer nutrition brands for $4.0bn and; iii) the combination of its Consumer Health business with Pfizer’s Consumer Health business. Greenhill also advised on thesale of Lucozade & Ribena in 2013 and the acquisition of Maxinutrition in 2010, as well as a number of other projects.

Tesco Greenhill has advised Tesco on a number of transactions. Most recently Greenhill has been advising Tesco on the pending $10.6bn sale of its operations in Malaysia and Thailand, having also advised on the £3.7bn merger with Booker that completed in 2018.

Meet some of our employees

DeanPrincipal, Analyst class of 2010 / Intern class of 2008

“While many things in this industry have changed in the decade or so since I was a summer intern in this very office, the position I find myself in today is testament to the incredible opportunity the Greenhill platform provides junior team members to fulfil their potential in an extremely competitive industry. I benefited enormously from the responsibility that was entrusted in me as an analyst, both in terms of producing technical analyses and working directly with senior bankers, but also in terms of direct client exposure literally months after completing training – and the scope and depth of that entrusted responsibility simply grows and grows as you become more senior.”

Dean read Economics and Management at Pembroke College, Oxford and, having interned at Greenhill in summer 2008, completed his degree in 2009. As an intern, he valued the opportunity to work closely with senior colleagues and particularly enjoyed learning about a large number of different industries and companies thanks to Greenhill’s generalist model – and a decade later remains very much of the same opinion.

ThomasAssociate, Analyst class of 2016 / Intern class of 2015

“The opportunity to develop and learn is second to none at Greenhill. The generalist programme combined with lean deal teams facilitates unparalleled exposure across multiple industries at any one time. For me it is an immense pleasure to work alongside high-calibre colleagues on a variety of interesting deals. We have created a close knit community at Greenhill which speaks volumes to the culture and working environment.”

Thomas completed his BSc in Neuroscience and MSc in Management at University College London. Having interned at Greenhill in summer 2015, Thomas’ mains reasons for joining Greenhill was the company’s culture and deal exposure as a junior banker.

AnnaAnalyst, Analyst class of 2018 / Intern class of 2017

“The day-to-day work consists of a variety of aspects – from modelling to commercial thinking, there’s always a new challenge to tackle. As an intern, I was most surprised by the plethora of opportunities to work with senior members, allowing me to gain a true insight into a number of different projects.”

Anna completed her MSci Physics at Imperial College London. Anna’s main reason for joining Greenhill was its culture. During her internship she was impressed by how welcoming supportive the team were, and believes that the responsibility and exposure afforded to interns and analysts is unparalleled.
