These services include therefurbishment of passengerrolling stock, repowering oflocomotives, supply of newtraction systems, manufactureand overhaul of train doorsand air conditioning systems.In addition we are able tooffer a full train maintenanceservice including the overhaulof diesel power packs andcooler groups, air brakeequipment, wheelsets,bogies, dampers, buffers,diesel engines, tractionmotors and alternators. Wealso provide a total range ofoff-site services at ourcustomers’ own facilities,which can be locatedanywhere in the UK.

Located on a22 acre site alongside the EastCoast mainline Doncaster Workshas a long and proud history in theconstruction and maintenance oftrains, the works being thebirthplace of famous steamlocomotives such as the FlyingScotsman and the world steamspeed record holder Mallard.

Wabtec Rail has continued to buildon this history and our passengerfleet refurbishment expertise hasencompassed the refurbishment ofLondon Underground’s Waterloo &City Line trains through to thecarrying out of fleet heavymaintenance, interior upgradesand refurbishments of DMUs,EMUs, High Speed Trains,locomotives and coaching stockfor the UK’s rolling stock leasing

The facility at Kilmarnock wascompletely transformed in 1990with the construction of a newmodern well-equipped factory tomeet the challenges of today’srailway. The factory is ideallysuited to handling multiple unitsand rakes of coaches. The corebusiness is repairing, refreshingand overhauling rail vehicles,wheelsets and components.

Vehicle overhaul and refreshment –Principally passenger vehicles butalso infrastructure, freight andlocomotives.

Full Wheelset overhaul and repairfacility, specialising in both lightand heavy overhauls.

Component overhaul – Includingbogies and other mechanical andelectrical items.

Spares – Provision of new partsfor 3rd party installation, includingretro engineering of obsoletecomponents.

All of the above is supported bythe in-house manufacturing facilityproviding full machining,fabrication, woodworking andpainting facilities, setting WabtecRail Scotland apart from otheroverhaulers, component installersand integrators.
