Wayne County Education AssociationScholarship Application

The Wayne County Education Association will be awarding one $750.00 dollar

cash scholarship. Students eligible for the WCEA scholarship now have to be children of

parents who are in the education association. Applicants must be children of classified or

.certified staff who are members of the education association. This scholarship will be

awarded to the highest score according to the following guidelines:

Academic Achievement 1 - 20 points(Includes a combination of GPA, ACT, and difficulty of courses taken)

Extracurricular Activities/Community Involvement 1 - 10 pointsHonors/Awards Received 1 - 5 pointsEssay : 1 - 10 pointsRecommendation of Teachers 1 - 5 points

Total Possible Points 50 points

A panel of evaluators will anonymously judge the applications. The results will

be tabulated and the winner determined. A check will be issued to the winner upon proof

of college or technical school enrollment.

The applications should be returned to the counselors' office by April 5 . A

decision as to the winner will be announced on Graduation Night.

**This award will be given to the child of an employee of the Wayne CountyBoard of Education.
