The history of bicycle starts from far-away. Today we know that it was invented in Italy by Leonardo da Vinci, who designed it equipped with transmission and handlebar, but the start of modern age of bike is placed in 1818 only – with the model patented by the German Karl Drais.For a long time, bicycle has been the main means of transport for millions of people. Then, it has been surpassed by motor vehicles and relegated to a increasingly limited function in sports and amateur field. Today, energy and ecological emergencies, access limitation to town centres and the need of quickness and flexibility of movement, bring back the bicycle to the past glories.Therefore, a new scene opens and technology helps in transforming the means by making the bike suitable to modern times. The electric bicycle or e-bike is born. In Europe, two factions immediately form: on the one hand the “purists” – more

present in the North – that conceive the electrical equipment as an emergency help to physical efforts, for not to betray a tradition which has always seen them faithful to a daily mobility means; and on the other hand the “eco-revolution”, who consider the electric bike a substitute means of cars and motorbikes, for reducing pollution, saving energy and also reducing the chaotic traffic of cities. The “eco-revolutions” mainly live in the South of Europe, and do not desire to modify their habits which do not expect sweat and hard work for moving from one place to another. The technique too is suitable to the two factions: torque sensors for the “purists” and pedal stroke sensors for the “eco-revolution”, longer operating ranges together with constant muscle exertion in the North and shorter distances but symbolic pedal strokes in the South. In 2008, Wayel gets in the market and breaks out of the mould by placing itself at the centre and trying to combine these two kinds of electric culture.Wayel brought in a drastic reduction in weights as regards prevailing models at that time, and lowered the weight of frames and batteries – with the essential choice of lithium, which gives a pure rideability to the bike, if needed. Wayel’s bicycle has front-wheel drive with brushless motor on wheel, keeping free traditional mechanics for rear side: in this way, free selection of ratios can measure the extent of muscle effort to be exerted by the rider, without

losing the advantage of speed sensor and thus guaranteeing the symbolic pedal stroke to the lovers of “zero effort”. A light and removable battery (from 1.9 kg), to always carry with you the “value” of your e-bike, and chain replaced by shaft drive, in order to be free to pedal “wearing a suit and tie” without risk of staining: these are the devices that give a typical urban dimension to Wayel’s models, expressing the desire to make them the pre-eminently alternative mobility means.From the start of an idea to the achievement of a brand, the time of choice passes by. Wayel’s main choice has been and will be that of giving the Customer a special place, at the centre of its aims. This means to really satisfy the needs of the eco-biker in his own daily life, which is made of particular needs, often personal and never generalist. This does not involve one e-bike for everybody, but means one bike for each one.

2008 The first project developed by Wayel – in cooperation with the University of Bologna as far as battery tests are concerned – is OneCity model: the electrically assisted pedal bike, with shaft drive transmission. Concept & design are exclusively Made in Italy. It was presented at RtoB Innovation Show in Bologna. Volleyball is chosen for advertising the new brand.

2009 OneCity is selected by the town of Genoa for Mobike service, the first project in Italy of bike sharing, with electrically assisted pedal bicycles.In April 2009, during G8 Environment of Syracuse, 150 OneCity bicycles were selected as courtesy bikes for ministers and staff’s transfers to Ortigia island, where the authorities’ meetings took place.In October 2009, OneCity was selected to be presented, as excellence product, at ZIG ZAG fair.Tradition, Innovation: Italy that runs to the future, project of Mobility Promotion

which was held at National Museum of New Sciences and Technological Innovation of Tokyo.Promoted by the Region of Emilia-Romagna, the event presented the most advanced entrepreneurial realities, particularly attentive to eco-friendly solutions and innovative even with regard to low costs and high performance.

2009: bike sharing service of town of Genoa.

2010Wayel launches the SUV model – Shopping Utility Vehicle – on the market, which is the perfect solution for those who need to go to the supermarket and prefer to leave the car at home. With this model, Wayel confirms the application of shaft drive transmission and introduces a new concept of electric bike, able to transport huge loads in perfect stability on all occasions.

2007 From the intuition of Giorgio Giatti - President of Termal Group - Wayel srl is born, using the Group’s historical know- how as regards Asian markets and culture.

With the development of technology, people’s needs get more and more demanding. An electric bike is no more asked for being only a competence of urban transport.The electric bike must be able - with eco-friendly characteristics - to take the place of other means of transports of much higher performance. In addition to comfort and cleanness, the e-bike is required to be able to face long routes, show high performance when getting up a hill, and have more e� caciously antitheft safety systems. Futura expresses all this; today, it already expresses the future of two-wheeled electric mobility. Futura is the electric bicycle of Wayel’s new Hill Leisure segment. Designed and made to accompany the rider along his desired trips, Futura electric bikes are available in two models (man & unisex) and are a perfect synthesis of style and technology. Futura is also elegance and comfort. Futura is an electric bike giving a further impulse to the power of pedal stroke: the propulsion system has been given to a new brushless motor (active after 1/3 pedal stroke) with 38Nm torque, which together with Shimano Nexus 7-speed gear and 5 assistance levels, enable to climb steep slopes that before could be faced only by cycle racing champions. A remarkable integration between the desired speed and the pedal frequency of rider is assured.Ultra light and ultra � at lithium polymer batteries 37V, are available in 2 sizes, have a thickness of only 5 cm and weigh 3.3 Kg (10Ah version).Futura is equipped with ESEB software, which is able to optimize energy consumption and so obtain excellent autonomies: up to 78 km with SLIM HP battery. LEISURE CYCLING

OneCity Long Ride S is the new model of Wayel’s Leisure segment.Available in 2 versions, 3 & 7-speed gear, OneCity Long Ride S is equipped with new ESEB software (Energy Saving Electric Bike), introducing a new concept of reserve and extending range up to 160 km with only one recharge cycle.

As regards the previous model, motor torque has been increased of more than 5% - from 18 to 19Nm - thus allowing the riding of more di� cult upward slopes smoothly, with no � ts and starts. The response time of “soft start” function is more reactive, from 2” to 1.2”. The new adjustment of speed sensor permits now the start of the electric motor just only after 1/3 pedal stroke.

The distinguishing features of the previous series are con� rmed, launched on the market in 2011: an electric bike characterized by shaft drive transmission, grand touring riding position, super comfort seat, wide tread tyres with anti-puncture gel and suspension front fork.

The motor in the OneCity Long Ride S remains the tried and tested 250W 24V, but with an increase in the torque of more than 5%, from 18 to 19Nm, compared to the previous series. SUV represents Wayel’s “utility” segment: this utility bike has been conceived not only for women, and solves the problem of family sized shopping trips in tra� c regulated town centres or it is suitable for those who prefer to leave the car at home.

The SUV has been designed to easily transport heavy and huge loads, without compromising stability or safety. Load total capacity of SUV achieves 35 kg, by using the rear rack (optional).

The constant attention to barycentres and weight distribution enables an excellent ride control: always light, always safe.

The very large front basket (optional) with a capacity of 37 litres, allows to carry bulky loads.The handlebar is high and wide, and together with a low down tube, guarantees ease of handling and a comfortable and ergonomic riding position.

OldTown is fast, suitable for those looking for an alternative for urban mobility daily. In standing starts reaches maximum speed after 50 meters and ensures 20 km/h at the � rst level of speed. Exceeds at 18.5 km/h the overpass and easy urban gradients of 10%.

Strong and lightweight: 21.9 kg only. Extremely easy to handle thanks to very low down tube. It can be activated by pressing “soft start” button on multifunction control unit: automatic start from rest to6 km/h. This function is very useful when moving o� at tra� c lights and also when wheeling the bicycle by hand, especially up steep slopes of garages and in pedestrian only areas.

Having a pocket bike immediately ready for use has always been the desire of many people; having an electric pocket bike immediately ready for use is probably the desire of everybody.

With E-Bit (Electric-Bike in Trolley), Wayel faces intermodal transport and proposes a means which can be easily and quickly combined with cars, subway, bus, train, plane, boat and caravan.

E-Bit is the queen of the market regarding the new segment Foldable ultra compact inaugurated by Wayel. In just 30” and three moves (four moves if pedals are folded), E-Bit is reduced to mimimum overall dimensions: only 12.9 kg (without battery). Simple and clean operations, thanks to the toothed belt, free from lubricants and maintenance.

The combination with a motor 250W and wheels 16” enables to easily face upward slopes and light unsurfaced roads, and allows a maximum speed of 20 km/h on the plain.The recommended supplying of a SMALL size battery of only 1.9 kg, allows the range up to 45 km at the speed of 15-16 km/h.

6 di� erent power ratings - 4 of 24 Volt and 2 of 36 Volt -, reduced dimensions, ultra light and removable in one only move: Wayel o� ers its Customers the chance to choose their desired battery capacities, thus ensuring the electric bike range that best satis� es their requirements. All Wayel batteries make use of lithium polymer technology, a solution that provides for maximum electric performance, along with top-of-the-line characteristics in terms of capacity, discharging and recharging. This technology allows for a signi� cant reduction in both size and weight, thus further simplifying battery charging operations at home, in the o� ce, in the basement, in the garage, or anywhere else that an electrical outlet is available for connecting the battery charger. Wayel lithium polymer batteries can be recharged at any time and always guarantee exceptional performance, with no memory e� ect. In contrast to other types of lithium batteries, with the lithium polymer solution there are no secondary reactions during the charging process, thus guaranteeing an energy e� ciency of 95%. WHY LITHIUM POLYMERS?Lithium polymers represent the technological evolution of lithium-ion batteries. The electrolyte (in lithium salt) is not contained within an organic solvent, but rather within a solid polymer composite (usually polyacrylonitrite), which is more stable than lithium ions. One of the main advantages that these units o� er with respect to lithium ion batteries is that this solid polymer is not � ammable.The danger levels associated with these batteries is therefore signi� cantly reduced, as guaranteed by the UN38.3 tests to which all Wayel batteries are subjected, indicated on the opposite page. Another advantage is related to the temperature e� ect: while the life cycle of lithium-ion batteries can be reduced when exposed to high temperatures, lithium polymer batteries remain una� ected. Finally, lithium polymer batteries do not require a metal container. This has resulted in an improved battery packing design, which provides for a reduced weight and allows the battery to take on the shape that’s best suited to the device in which it will be utilized.

38.3.4.1 - Test 1: Altitude simulation This test simulates air transport under low-pressure conditions. The batteries are tested for at least 6 hours under temperature conditions of 20° C + -5° C and pressure conditions of 0.116 bar or less.

38.3.4.2 - Test 2: Thermal test This test simulates rapid and extreme temperature changes in order to verify the integrity of the electrical circuits, the connection and the battery itself. The batteries are tested for at least 6 hours under temperature conditions of 75° C + -2° C and within a maximum time of 30 min. The test is repeated under temperature conditions of -40° C + -2° C. The test is repeated 10 times.

38.3.4.3 - Test 3: Vibration test This test simulates various types of typical vibrations during transport. The battery is subjected to a continuous vibration, ranging from 7Hz to 200Hz, for15minutes. The cycle is repeated 12 times, for a total of 3 hours.

38.3.4.4 - Test 4: Shock testThis test simulates possible impacts during transport. The battery is subjected to an acceleration of150 g, with a duration of 6 m/s.

38.3.4.5 - Test 5: External short circuit test This test simulates an external short circuit. The battery is subjected to a short circuit condition with a total external resistance of less than 0.1 ohm at 55° C for one hour. After having passed the test, the battery is observed for an additional six hours.

38.3.4.6 - Test 6: Impact testThis test simulates an impact with a given mass. The battery is subjected to an impact against a15.8 mm diameter bar with a weight of 9.1 kg. The bar is placed at a height of 61 cm above the battery and is dropped onto its centre.

38.3.4.7 - Test 7: Overcharge test This test evaluates the battery’s ability to withstand an overcharge condition. The battery is charged using a current equal to twice the maximum continuous charge current indicated by the Manufacturer.

SOME OF THE TESTS PRESCRIBED BY THE UN38.3 STANDARD WAYEL 1+ 4 YEAR WARRANTY

The exceptional quality o� ered by Wayel batteries has allowed us to launch a new long-term warranty on the market, which distinguishes us from the competition: 1+4 years conditional warranty. All Wayel batteries are guaranteed against manufacturing defects for one year, if used and stored according to the instructions included in the package. The standard warranty can be extended for an additional 4 years, in accordance with the details provided below. Any Customer who encounters a battery defect after the 1st year and up to the 5th year of use may request a replacement battery at a special price, as indicated below.Speci� cations for the extended warranty:• o� er valid starting from August 1st, 2012;• applicable for all batteries purchased up until 2 months prior to the o� er’s starting date (batteries

purchased by June 1st);• mandatory registration on the website by � lling out and submitting the appropriate form no later than

3 months from the date of purchase;• mandatory completion of the warranty extension application by � lling out and submitting the

appropriate form on the website;• the battery deemed to be faulty must be returned to the manufacturer at the Customer’s expense and

the discounted price for the replacement battery must be paid upon submitting the order. The shipping charges for the replacement battery shall be borne by Wayel;

• the warranty extension application request may only be submitted once by each Customer;• the battery may only be replaced with a model of equivalent capacity.The discount o� the list price in e� ect at the time of the new battery’s purchase will be applied if the extended warranty option has been requested, based on the battery’s date of purchase:• from 12 to 24 months: 50% discount • from 24 to 36 months: 33% discount• from 36 to 48 months: 25% discount• from 48 to 60 months: 20% discount.

All Wayel’s lithium polymer batteries conform to UN38.3 standard.
