Summer Reading is a Blast Reading is the key to success in education, but reading is not confined to school - what is learned at school needs to be used at home through reading for pleasure and interest.

Reading with or to a child will help keep their reading skills alive and prevents the loss of these skills. A recent survey showed that 96% of students who participated, improved or maintained their reading levels over the holidays. These holidays, we will be running the Summer Reading is a Blast Holiday Reading Program. You and your child are invited to participate in Summer Reading is a Blast for these summer school holidays. There is no cost involved, just commitment to have fun reading through the holidays.

Every participating student in Years K to 5 will receive a Summer Reading is a Blast reading card in the last week of school to record what they read over the holidays. The card also has tips for shared reading activities. Students are asked to read for 21 days during the summer holidays.
