Waverley Catholic VaultsChecking of inscriptions was completed in August 1992These vaults run along the northern boundary of the cemetery (backing onto Trafalgar St). They commence immediately inside the main gate.

Waverley Central MoundChecking of inscriptions was completed in March 1992This lawn section is located in the roundabout at the junction of the roads dividing Sections 5, 6, 9 & 10. It is arranged in four circles, which for the purposes of this CD we have numbered 1 to 4, counting from the inner circle. Grave numbers listed are those recorded on plaques attached to some headstones.

Waverley Section 16 (Catholic & General)A large section in the middle of the cemetery, Section 16 is easily located as the ‘Irish Memorial’ stands along its northern border. The memorial is to 79 men who participated in the rebellion of 1798 – the United Irishmen. The names of 17 who were part of the Dublin uprising of Easter 1916 were added in 1948, and the names of a further ten were added after they died by hunger strike in Long Kesh, 1981.

Waverley Section 1 (Anglican)This section is on the right as you enter the main gate of the cemetery. The graves start behind a monument, adjoining the office, to those who died in a submarine mine explosion at Middle Head. Rows run from west to east.

Waverley Section 2 (Anglican & Catholic)This section can be found immediately opposite the main gate. Some rows run from west to east while others run west to east as outlined below.

Sections 2 to 5 were originally separated by roads but these have now been closed and used for further graves. As a result, the boundaries of this section are less obvious on the ground than indicated by the maps, which are indicative only and not to scale.

Section 2 Special D (Anglican)Checking of inscriptions was completed in March 1992Rows: 1Graves: 1-7Located opposite the main gate. A single row of graves facing the road, it runs from the corner along the road.
