Power to tissue, also known as irradiance, is the key to precise, low downtime, low discomfort ablative and full resurfacing procedures. With a high peak power per ablative pulse, the SmartXide DOT offers more power to tissue than other systems.
Older technology gated or chopped continuous wave (CW) lasers pulse their energy by opening and closing a shutter. These lasers are limited in their power by the size of the tube, the gating speed, and the tube recovery time and are only able to modulate the dwell time.
The enhanced superpulse SmartXide DOT laser employs a large DC-excited tube to create an intial high energy pulse some 150 microseconds long for clean, fast, precise ablation. This pulse is followed by a low-energy tail pulse that can be modulated for a precise amount of desired non-ablative thermal delivery.
Ablative depth, dot density, dwell time, scanning mode, shape and size of the treatment area: these are the parameters that can be individually adjusted to precisely tailor each treatment to your patients’ individual needs.

Now with SmartPulse, you can modulate both the high peak power to control depth of ablation, as well as the dwell time for the desired amount of thermal damage. SmartXide DOT is the only DC-excited CO2 laser that offers modulated superpulse technology known as SmartPulse which allows simultaneous control of both energy (depth) and dwell time (thermal damage). This is a major advance over RF-excited CO2 systems that utilize a continuous or gated emission source that are limited to only energy modulation.

POWER
Power to tissue, also known as irradiance, is the key to precise, low downtime, low discomfort ablative and full resurfacing procedures. With a high peak power per ablative pulse, the SmartXide DOT offers more power to tissue than other systems.
Older technology gated or chopped continuous wave (CW) lasers pulse their energy by opening and closing a shutter. These lasers are limited in their power by the size of the tube, the gating speed, and the tube recovery time and are only able to modulate the dwell time.
The enhanced superpulse SmartXide DOT laser employs a large DC-excited tube to create an intial high energy pulse some 150 microseconds long for clean, fast, precise ablation. This pulse is followed by a low-energy tail pulse that can be modulated for a precise amount of desired non-ablative thermal delivery.
Ablative depth, dot density, dwell time, scanning mode, shape and size of the treatment area: these are the parameters that can be individually adjusted to precisely tailor each treatment to your patients’ individual needs.
