Site: wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in the Village of Watkins Glen (to be decommissioned in 2018)
Clients: Village of Watkins Glen & the Schuyler County Partnership for Economic Development (SCOPED)

• Connectivity issues with the cargo rail on the south end of the site.
• Immediately surrounded by a vacant lot (planned condo development), seasonal restaurant, marina and residential properties
• Many nearby parks and open spaces
• Waterfront hotel across the street
• Close to downtown

AquaponicsGrowing fish and plants together in one integrated system
The WWTP infrastructure can be renovated into an aquaponics system relatively easily.
The size of the WWTP aeration pools will be more than 30 times of an average aquaponic facility.
Products will be distributed through multiple streams.Farmer’s market, Local Restaurants, On site visitors, etc.
