Event Overview The course is located on the campus of Trek Bicycles world headquarters in Waterloo, Wisconsin and has varied terrain and features some challenging sections including – flyovers, off camber sections, paved start/finish, short but steep hills and wooded sections.

Location The race course is on the Trek Headquarters campus in Waterloo, Wisconsin. Waterloo is located between Madison and Milwaukee. From Madison: take I-94 E. Take exit 250 from I-94 E (15.9 mi). Turn Left and continue on WI-73 N. Turn Right and take WI-19 E and follow signs to Trek. From Chicago or Milwaukee: take I-94 W to WI-89 N in Lake Mills. Turn right onto WI-89 N. Milwaukee’s Mitchell Field Airport (city code: MKE) is 68 miles away from Waterloo, is the largest airport in Wisconsin and has over 200 daily departures.

Camping Limited space for both RV and Tent camping is available in Waterloo at Fireman’s Park, a short distance from the race site. Complete details and registration form is available at http://www.waterloowi.us/your-government/parks/park-rentals

Parking Free automobile parking for spectators and racers is available on a first-come, first-served basis in designated parking lots and on surrounding city streets. Please do not park in areas marked for authorized vehicles only or marked as “no parking”. Vehicles in those areas may be ticketed or towed.

RV/Bus/Sprinter Van/Trailer Parking and Space for Tents for Amateur Athletes and Teams Amateur athletes and teams and may reserve team/tent space of various sizes in advance on the Registration site. These spaces are available by reservation only on a space available basis. No tents may be erected in the park or parking lot without the permission of the race organization.

Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Athletes and Teams Parking In accordance with UCI regulations, Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Athletes and Teams are provided with parking passes and may contact the race organization for reserved parking info. Premium parking and parking for larger vehicles is available at an additional cost. Parking passes will be distributed at the Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup’s Riders Confirmation meeting from 4:00 pm Saturday, September 21.

Permitting; Rules and Regulations

Permits USA Cycling Races under USA Cycling permit #2019- 80. All USA Cycling rules and regulations shall apply. UCI Races held under UCI permits and regulations. The UCI scale of penalties shall apply. Please note that categories and schedules are different each day to accommodate the UCI and World Cup racing.

Eligibility USA Cycling Men and Women must have a current USA Cycling license. UCI C2 Races: All racers must have a valid license with a UCI ID delivered by a National Federation recognized by the UCI.

• Men: Open to riders whose 2019-2020 racing age is 19 and above (born in year 2001 and before)

• Women: Open to riders whose 2019-2020 racing age is 17 and above (born in year 2003 and before)

Registration Pre-registration for all races except for Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup races is available on-line at http://www.bikereg.com/trek-cx-cup

• Registration fee is $40 for the first race of each day. o Second and subsequent races on the same day are $25. o Day-of registration fee will be $45 for the first race. o Junior 18 & under racers: $15 for junior categories.

• Online registration Opens May 15, 2019 • Online registration Closes Monday, September 16 at 12 NOON Central Time.

o Registration will close when field size limit is reached. No wait lists. Each start time has a combined field limit of 150 riders.

• Day-of registration is available for all races except for Friday UCI C2 race.

Field Limits/Waitlists The combined course limit is 150 riders for the event. During pre-registration through Labor Day, space in each category will be partitioned to ensure riders of all categories have an equal opportunity to register. Following Labor Day, any extra space will be reapportioned to fields that are full during the same time slot. When a category is full, a waitlist will open on BikeReg. If any space opens up, entries will be offered to riders in the order of the list. Waitlists will be utilized in the same way during the event for on-site registration.

Number Pick Up Schedule and Location Number pickup for each race (excluding the Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup races) closes 60 minutes prior to the race start time. Location: in the Atrium of Trek Bikes in Waterloo, WI. Enter through the front door. Schedule:

Thursday September 19 - 4:00 – 7:00 pm Friday September 20 - 8:30 am – 5:30 pm. Saturday, Sunday September 21, 22 – 6:30 am – 5:30 pm.

Anti-Doping All races are conducted under USA Cycling and UCI anti-doping regulations. Trek CX Cup is part of the USA Cycling RaceClean program. All USA Cycling race categories, are subject to anti-doping regulations and may be tested by USADA. UCI testing will be under the control of WADA. Riders must check to see if they are required to submit to doping control. Selections for doping control will be posted on the Results Board adjacent to the finish line. The Anti-Doping room is located inside Trek Medical Clinic, follow the signs from the Finish Area.

Media Room and Press Conferences/Mix Zone The Media Room is located in the Trek Building and can be accessed by the sidewalk to the lower parking area. The Media Room is available to individuals with media credentials and will be open during the competition schedule.

No Press Conference will be held at the conclusion of the Sunday Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Women’s Elite or Men’s Elite race. Riders will be available to media in the Mix Zone adjacent to the podium area. No press conference will be held following Friday’s UCI C2 races. The top 3 riders in Friday’s men’s and women’s UCI C2 races will be asked to remain in the Mix Zone near the podium area after the ceremony for interviews.

Race Headquarters Race Headquarters will be located near the finish line.

First Aid/EMT’s/Nearest Hospital Medical Tent #1 is located at the Finish area. Medical Tent #2 is located at the Pit. The nearest Hospital is St Mary’s Emergency Center, 2840 O’Keefe Ave, Sun Prairie, WI 53590 (Tel # 608-229-8484) (15 miles/30 min). Race Doctor is Masaru Furukawa MD.

Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Riders Confirmation Meeting and Team Manager Meeting The UCI Riders Confirmation and Team Manager Meeting will be held on Saturday September 21 in the Atrium, located in the Trek Building and can be accessed by the sidewalk to the lower parking area 4.00 – 5.00pm Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup rider’s confirmation 5.15 – 5.45pm Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Team Managers meeting

Rider Changing Rooms and Showers Available for UCI competitors. Located inside Trek Building, follow the signs from the Finish Area.

Number Placement USA Cycling Races: Back number is to be placed on RIGHT side. Riders shall ensure that their number is visible and legible at all times. Numbers folded, altered or not well fixed will result in a fine. UCI C2 Races: Back number is to be placed on RIGHT side. Shoulder numbers, for Elite categories only, shall be worn on the upper forearm/shoulder so it is visible frontally. Riders shall ensure that their number is visible and legible at all times. Numbers folded, altered or not well fixed will result in a fine according to UCI regulations. Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Races: Back number is to be placed on RIGHT side. Chip Return Chip will be removed following the finish line by, or at the 80% point if you are removed from the race. It is the rider’s responsibility to make sure chip is returned. Failure to return a chip will result in a replacement charge of 150 CHF from the UCI.

Staging Protocol and Start Order USA Cycling Races: Fifteen (15) minutes before race time at the back of the start grid. All riders, regardless of category, are required to have submitted a signed USAC Rider Release before they will be allowed to enter the start grid. Release must be signed by each rider; the signature of a Team Manager is not permitted. USA Cycling Races: Start Order: 1) As per the most recently published USA Cycling cyclo-cross individual classification of the current season. 2) Random generated start order. 3) For foreign racers that do not possess USA Cycling ranking points, upon written request and receipt of the racer’s applicable national ranking, the race organizer reserves the right, in its sole discretion with the agreement of the USA Cycling race officials, to place such foreign rider in a call-up position commensurate with such rider’s home nation ranking. UCI C2 Races: In accordance with UCI Rule 5.1.043 start order will be: 1) As per the most recently published UCI cyclo-cross individual classification of the current season. 2) Unclassified riders: Random generated start order. Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Races: In accordance with UCI Rule 5.1.043, start order changed in the UCI rules on 21.06.19: 1) The first 24 riders of the most recently published UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup standings of the current season. This point 1 is not applicable for the first UCI world cup round of the season. 2) As per the most recently published UCI cyclo-cross individual classification of the current season (or the final classification of the previous season if no classification has yet been published for the current season), 3) Unclassified riders: by nations in rotation (For unclassified riders, the start order within the team must be confirmed by the national federations during rider’s confirmation. For order of teams, refer to UCI 5.1.043).

Lapped Riders USA Cycling Races: Every effort will be made to permit all riders to complete the full length of their race. USA Cycling rule 4H1(d) Early Bell will be used: Officials shall attempt to indicate 1 lap to go by announcement, a bell or lap counter that riders will finish in the next lap. All riders finish when the lap cards indicate 0. UCI C2 Races and Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Races: the “80% rule” will fully apply as described in UCI article 5.1.052. Concerned riders will be listed in the results in the order in which they are pulled out of the race plus number of laps that have not been completed.

Unauthorized Refreshments No feeding is permitted. Riders are advised to add a water bottle on their bikes if necessary. Accepting hand-ups from spectators – including bottles, cans or money – is not permitted and will result in disqualification. No alcohol is permitted on the course or in the technical area.

Pit Access. Mechanic’s Pass and Paramedical Assistant USA Cycling Races: No Pit Passes are required for access to the pit during USA Cycling events. Each rider is allowed 2 helpers. If you place a bike in the pit, please remove your bike promptly after your race is completed. UCI C2 Races: Pit Passes are required for access to the pit on Friday. Each rider may request (2) Pit Passes at number pick-up. Please note that only working mechanics are allowed in the pit – no media, friends, family members or spectators are permitted. Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Races: 1) Each rider has a right to two mechanics + one paramedical assistant. No other personnel will be allowed in the pit area. Pit passes (wristbands) will be issued during riders’ confirmation, after the check of assistants’ licenses by commissaires (see below). 2) Elite riders will be assigned designated pit box areas for mechanics and where bike changes will take place. Pit boxes will be assigned during the Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Team Manager meeting, as per the UCI rules. 3) The pit pass wristband must be worn at all times while in the pit area. Assistants 5.1.041 “For the UCI cyclo-cross world cup and world championships, accreditations for rider’s paramedical assistant and two mechanics will be distributed by commissaires exclusively, after that the license’s check of each paramedical assistant and the mechanics has been completed.”

NOTE: 1) That licence does not need to be a specific licence such as 'mechanic' or 'medical assistant' or 'international licence'; it can be any kind of licence, as long as that licence is delivered by a National Federation affiliated to the UCI, with a valid date. 2) Those licences will be checked by UCI commissaires during the riders’ confirmation process, from 4.00pm to 5.00pm: a picture, a copy of the licence or any screenshot proving the link between the owner and a National Federation will be accepted. 3) The licence is presented by the team manager; the owner of the licence doesn’t need to be physically present during his licence check.

Pit and Bike Washing Area Pressure washers located in the Pit Area are for the exclusive use of the race in progress. Two public bike washes available: l) near the Trailhead Building and 2) near lower parking lot.

Results, Awards and Prizes Results will be posted in the registration area and at the podium.

USA Cycling Races: Riders finishing in the top 3 of each race should report to the awards area near the stage immediately following the completion of each race.

• Only riders and designated event staff are allowed in the podium waiting area. NO EXCEPTIONS.

• Riders shall arrive at the podium area attired in team racing attire or team wear only. • Prizes will be awarded at the podium during the Awards Ceremony. • If you miss your Awards Ceremony, please stop at the podium to pick up your prize before

you depart. Merchandise awards will not be mailed. UCI C2 Races: Elite Women and Elite Men will have an Award Ceremony at the conclusion of the Men’s Race. Riders finishing in the top 3 of each race should report to the awards area near the stage immediately following the completion of each race. Prize Payment Forms will be available for completion at the Race Office following the posting of official results.

• Prize money will be distributed via bank wire transfer. Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup Races: The following riders will present themselves to the Podium area immediately following each race. 1) Top 3 of each race: Men Elite, Women Elite, Women U23 2) Leader of the World Cup series in each category: Men Elite, Women Elite, Women U23. Prize Payment Forms will be available for completion at Team Manager Meeting or the Race Office following the posting of official results. Prize money will be distributed via bank wire transfer.

Course Length and Description

Length First Lap Start Section: 155 M Full lap: 3,140 M Distance from Pit 1 to Pit 2: 1,440 M Distance from Pit 2 to Pit 1: 1,600 M Friday course will use a slightly modified version of the Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup course and will be slightly shorter than the length above. Junior category course will use a by-pass of some sections on Saturday and Sunday.

Description 10% Pavement/90% Grass & Dirt. The course will have a double pit. Course features include three (3) flyover, one (1) set of stairs, one (1) set of barriers.

Warm-Up Periods

USAC Races and UCI C2 Races Warm-Up Times Friday, September 20: 9:30 – 10:00 and 11:30 am – 12:30. Riders warming up must be respectful of the clinic taking place on the course. Saturday, September 21: beginning 7:00 am before first race, between races and 6:00 -6:30 pm. Sunday, September 22: beginning 7:00 am before first race and between races. No warm-up on the course between 12:30–5:00 pm. Warming up on the course while a race is in progress is strictly prohibited - will result in disqualification. Visit the Feedback Sports tent in the Expo for a trainer.

Description 10% Pavement/90% Grass The course will have a double pit. Course features include three (3) flyover, one (1) set of stairs, one (1) set of barriers.
