Boasting unrivalled growth opportunities, Myanmar’s water supply &

treatment industries are ripe for the taking. MYANWATER 2018 Expo – Myanmar’s No.1 International

Water Supply & Treatment Exhibition is your chance to be part of the biggest marketing platform of the industry.

The MYANWATER 2018 Expo is scheduled to be held at the MEP, Mindama, Yangon from the 29th November to the 1st of December 2018. With over 1.07 million households using unimproved toilets, nearly 3.1 million households in Myanmar are in critical need of access to improved water sources.

Emerging from the depths of isolation after decades of junta rule, Myanmar is opening the doors to the outside world, driven by the escalating force of the industrial sector.

Recognised since 2013 as Myanmar’s water industry, biggest and most important international exhibition, this platform plays the medium in delivering innovative solutions to meet the country’s increasing demand for water supply, sanitation & industrial wastewater treatment requirements.

Myanmar’s gross domestic product gures for 2017 is reported at 7.7% while 8% is anticipated for 2018, as projected by the Asian Development Bank. This puts the country greatly ahead of all other countries in the Southeast Asia region in terms of economic growth. With a strong leadership under Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s political party, the nation’s population of 54 million people and a large proportion in the working class, the country has a great capacity and capability to maintain its rapid progress.

Whether your objective is to conduct market feasibility studies, seek local partners and distributors, increase existing market share in Myanmar, or simply just to maintain relationships with key clients while looking for new opportunities with foreign partners, you can be certain to meet your goals at MYANWATER 2018.

Expected to bring more than 6,000 trade visitors and participation by over 260 exhibiting companies, MYANWATER 2018 is set to bring together key buyers of the industry.

In the pursuit to develop its industries towards sustainable development, the government has warned factories to treat their wastewater before disposing into Myanmar’s bodies of water – the lakes and rivers, or face penalties, that may include the closure of their facilities.

The Yangon Regional Chief Minister, U Phyo Min Thein approved a US$4.5 million water purication project funded by the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) for the Shwe Lin Ban industrial zone.

The Myanmar Engineering Society’s water resources reported that only 5% of the country’s water wealth of 56 cubic kilometers is usable through current strategies, and nancial and technical capabilities. With the demand for water expected to increase over the next decade, cleaning of Myanmar’s water sources and increasing the people’s access to pipe or tap water, is predicted to help cut down on waste management and save money.

With an estimate of 19,000 cubic meters of water available for per person per annum, Myanmar is a regional water superpower. It has water storage capacity available, nine times that of China and 16 times the amount in both Bangladesh & India.
