Uniform PolicyMAS students dress to impress!
PANTS: Khaki Slacks (no joggers, leggings, or jeans, -no pants with outside pocket)
SHIRTS: Black collared shirt with MAS logo.Shirts must be tucked.
SHOES: Closed shoes (no crocs, slippers or sandals)
JACKETS: Solid black jackets, sweatshirts, or sweaters / Magnet jackets
Belt: Black or brown
Fridays: MAS Fridays – Spirit Shirts
High School Students may wear long shorts and white collared polo shirts.
SAFETY MEASURES1.IDs must be worn at all times – NO EXCEPTIONS2.Students must be in full uniform daily – Unless
otherwise specified (MAS Fridays)3.Students are required to stay on campus at all
times during the regular school day4.All parents arriving at MAS will be required to

BreakfastBreakfast is served free of charge in the
cafeteria from 6:30 a.m. – 7:20 a.m. School starts at 7:30 AM SHARP!
• All middle school students MUST report to the cafeteria daily prior to 7:30 am start of school day.
• High school students may use area by Building 2 and 5 upon arrival to school. Breakfast food cannot be taken out of the cafeteria.
• Students must be in school uniform the first day of school.• Know Where To Go: Log on to your student portal for your
1st period room assignment on Sunday, August 19. • Lunch Schedule to be announced.• Free/Reduced lunch will apply for previously approved
students for 20 days. Renewal forms must be completed on line.
• School day ends at 2:30 PM.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES• Visit www.mas.dadeschools.net for a list of
supplies for your core courses.• Each magnet teacher will provide a list of
supplies for your magnet classes on the first day of school.
• Have your book bag every day with materials (paper, pens, pencils, etc.) NO ROLLING BOOKBAGS
• Option: A Day / B Day Book Bag• Keep an Agenda – electronic or paper

CORE COURSES: ELECTIVES:
• *Students at MAS have the opportunity to take 2 additional elective courses; students
requiring intensive reading do not lose a magnet elective.
• *Schedule changes will only be made if there is an error. Counselors will address student
schedules during the first two weeks of school.
Attendance Policy BE PRESENT EACH DAY! If absent, the student has 72 hours to bring a doctor’s/parent’s
note. Admits to class are issued in the Main Office at 7:00 a.m. Students without a note will receive an UNEXCUSED absence. Admits must be presented to each teacher for their records. Students who are tardy to school must report to the main
office. Competition / Performance Participation is tied to attendance
and grades. More than 10 unexcused absences and/or 20 tardies will result
in non-participation in magnet/school activities. Failure to adhere to the attendance policy will result in
dismissal from the Magnet Program.
