Write us if your locality has no correspondent. THE EDITOR. fairview The Fairview Improvement Club dance last Saturday night was well attended and a very enjoyable time had by those present. A generous contribution was given by the mem- bers and guests. Miss Dorothy Dock- wood, the hostess, was assisted in nerving by Miss Minnie Brasch, Mrs. Hickman, Messrs. Benton. Ilozartb. Palm, and Johnson. Mrs. Debils, her son. Emil, and son-in-law. Mr. Bossuyt, who have been quite ill with the flu. are much improved, and we trust will soon be about again. * Dr. Mustard of Olympia made a professional call at the Luedecker home last Thursday evening. Mr. Lemley being the patient. At this time Mr. Lemley is able to be up and around again. Mrs. Parsons, Mrs. Cooper. Mr Hotaon and Mr. Hickman were call- era at the school Monday afternoon. Mr. Lockwood spent the week-end with his family, returning to Baldi Sunday. A telegram was received from Louis Parsons saying he had recov- ered from an attack of the influenza and was able to return to his work. A very interesting business meet- ing of the club was held Sunday af- ternoon at the clubhouse. Owing to so much sickness in the neighbor- hood the attendance was not so large as before but some very good plans were made for the improvement of our district. The club is in splendid financial condition. Mr. Benton is very much improved in health and we trust will soon be completely recovered from his long seige of illness. Mrs. Cooper. Mr. Parsons and Mrs Luedecker and son, Harold, were Olympia visitors last Wednesday. tilenn Loekwood returned home from Baldi last Thursday. We notice that Mr. Parsons is surely making a showing on his place by clearing land. Mr. and Mrs. Feldhusen enter- tained Mr. and Mrs. Wyzbicki and family Sunday at dinner. Gus Jones was an Olympia visitor last Sunday. Mrs. Eriek Johnson called at the Brasch home last Saturday. Mr. Fisher of Hallow. Wash., spent several days at the home of W. F. Brasch last week. Mrs. Parsons called on her daugh- ter last Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Luedecker and son Edwin called at the Benton home last Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Friend and little daughter are week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Parsons. Mrs. Hickman and Miss Minnie Brasch were Olympia visitors Tues- day. The club Is giving a hard time dance Saturday night. Hard time prizes will be awarded to both the lady and gentleman having the best hard-time costumes. Mr. and Mrs. Wyzbicki and family called at the Luedecker home Sun- day afternoon. SOUTH BAY Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilson, of Lacey, and Mr. and Mrs. Mansfield of Olympia were Sunday callers at the G. C. Stearns home. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Longmne and sons drove to Tacoma Sunday to visit Jim Longmire, the former's brother. Mrs. C. H. Sylvester and sons and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Moore and daugh- ters drove to Hood's canal Sunday and called on Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Bickle and family. Mr. and Mrs. Will Hawson are re- ceiving congratulations on the ar- rival of a baby girl, born February 29?a Leap Year baby. Mother and babe are doing nicely. Mrs. C. T. Palmer is caring for them. James Walker was called to Ten- ino Tuesday evening to care for his aunt and uncle, who are seriously ill of flu. Mrs. It. B. Parish, who has been at Roistfort earing for her daughter, returned to her home in Gate last Sat urda>. Lew Pilcher. of Montana, who came over to attend the funeral of \u25a0** his sister. Mrs. Cliristensen is still in Gate, helping care for his parents and other relatives who are still un- able to resume their work. Kenneth Parish and Rena Mc- f'reedy were married in Olympia Monday and have gone to housekeep- ing at Helsing Junction, where Ken- neth is working in a mill. Their many friends wish tliein a long and prosperous life. SCHNEIDERS PRAIRIE A very interesting program was held at Schneiders Prairie school- house Friday afternoon. Those at- tending were Mrs. Wynne and little son. Mrs. Ewing. Mrs. J. A. Morrow and little daughter Donna, Mrs. James O'Hare and baby, Mrs. W. A. Randolph, Miss Theresa O'Hare, Mrs. J. 0. Whitney, Miss Josie Whitney. Mr. Howly and James Wynne. PKMNSILA The Butler's Cove school has 11 100 per cent attendance this week. A very interesting party was.given at Alert Grange hall last Saturday evening and excellent music was fur- nished by the high school orchestra. There were a large number from Tenino and Plum Station present anil dancing and a delightful picnic sup- per occupied the evening. J. D. Harbst has been on the sick list but could not stay on account of spring work. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Modes and son and Ernest Miller and sister, Mrs. F. L. Jackson, of Seatle. drove to Olym- pia in Mr. Millers' new car. to visit the Whitney family. Miss Cassandra Messegee visited the Butler's Cove school Wednesday afternoon. Miss Ella Granger visited home* folks at Laeey over the week-end. H. A. Tennison had the misfor- tune to lose one of his horses tics week. Benjamin Morrow*, who has been visiting his brother, J. A. Morrow, left here Monday for Montana, where he will be very busy putting in his spring crops. , Mr. Steel of Tacoma was a business visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. O'Hare. John Bourges was an Olympia vis- itor Monday evening. John Smith drove his car to Taco- ma Sunday, accompanied by his par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Smith, and his brother Alex Smith. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Smith and son Alex will con- tinue their trip to Spokane. Miss Josie Whitney has been visit- ing friends In Seattle for the last few days. Tom Sergeant made a business trip to Shelton Tuesday. There was a very large attendance at Schneiders Prairie dance Saturday night and everyone reported a good time. Miss Margaret Gansfield is spend- ing a few days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Smith. MuD BAY Odah Hustin and family have been seriously ill with flu. Several in Chris Simm's family also are ill. Tom Blackwood is suffering an at- tack of rheumatism. l'rofessor Grant and family have moved to the Calkins place. There will be a dance at McLane Grange hall Saturday evening. All are invited to come. Mrs. C. C. Aspinwall and Mrs. John Austin attended the meeting of the Mintue Women in Olympia Thursday. Bert Shannon is getting out ties tor the Drahani camp. Mrs. Dremel has been laid up sev- eral days with a sore foot. George Sumption of Tenino visit- ed his sister, Mrs. Robinson, over Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Dremel received word that their son-in-law. Glen Rohr, had met with a bad accident while working at a mill which neces- sitated the taking of five stitches in his arm.
