or dropped into water, do not use and contact the Dyson Helpline.8. Contact the Dyson Helpline when service or repair is required. Do not disassemble the appliance as incorrect
reassembly may result in an electric shock or fire.9. Do not stretch the cable or place the cable under strain. Keep the cable away from heated surfaces. Do not close a
door on the cable, or pull the cable around sharp edges or corners. Arrange the cable away from traffic areas and where it will not be stepped on or tripped over. Do not run the appliance over the cable.
10. Do not unplug by pulling on the cable. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cable. The use of an extension cable is not recommended.
11. Do not use to pick up water.12. Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as petrol, or use in areas where they or their vapours
may be present.13. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.14. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of the body away from openings and moving parts. Do not point the
hose, wand or tools at your eyes or ears or put them in your mouth.15. Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything
that may reduce airflow.16. Use only Dyson recommended accessories and replacement parts.17. To avoid a tripping hazard rewind the cable when not in use.18. Do not use without the clear bin and filters in place.19. Do not leave the appliance when plugged in. Unplug when not in use and before servicing.20. Do not pull or carry by cable or use cable as a handle.21. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs. Do not work with the appliance above you on the stairs.22. Turn off all controls before unplugging. Unplug before connecting any tool or accessory.

ASSEmbLY• Lietheapplianceonitsback.• Thecleanerheadfitsontotheconnectionsunderneaththefrontpartoftheball.
Slidethecleanerheadupintothechannelseithersideoftheairway.Pushfirmly:thecleanerheadwillclickintoplaceandtheredlatchwillengage.
• Standtheapplianceupstraight.• Placethehandleandwandassemblyintothegroovesinthetopoftheducton
theappliance.• Pushtheredhandlereleasebuttondown.Slidethehandledowninthegrooves
forabout10cm.Letgoofthebutton.Pullupthehandlegentlyuntilitclicksintoplace–theredhandlereleasebuttonwillpopup.
• Connectthewandandthehose.Makesuretheyareseatedintherecessofthe handle.
• Pushtheredhandlereleasebuttondownwhilstpressingtheredbuttononthehose.Slidethehandledownintoplaceinthemachine.Theredhandlereleasebuttonwillremaindown.Thisisthestorage position.
• Closethewandcap.• Tofitthetoolholder,firstremovethecycloneandclearbinassembly:releaseit
bypressingtheredbuttonatthetopofthecyclone.• Slidethetoolholderontothebackoftheappliance,justabovetheball,as
shown.Pressthetoolholderonwithyourthumbs,whileholdingthefrontoftheappliancewithyourfingers.Thefittingistight,souseaconstant,firmpressure.(Pleasenote:Thetoolholderisnotdesignedtoberemoved.)
• Refitthecycloneandclearbinunit.• Attachthetools.• Windthecablearoundthecablehooks.Securewiththeclip.• Towatchashortonlinevideovisit:

OPERAtION• Unwindthecable.• Plugtheapplianceintothemainselectricitysupply.• Touse,pullupthehandletoextendit.Theredhandlereleasebuttonwillpop
up.Reclinetheappliancebypullingbackwardsonthehandle.• Toswitch‘ON’or‘OFF’presstheredpowerbutton,locatedasshown.• Afteruse,returntheappliancetotheuprightposition,pushingitfirmlyinto
place.Thestabiliserwheelswillautomaticallylower.• Toretractthehandle,makesurethehoseandwandareseatedintherecessof
thehandle.• Pushtheredhandlereleasebuttondown.Slidethehandledownintoplacein
theappliance.• Thenunplugtheappliance,coilthecablesafelyandputtheapplianceaway.• Switch‘OFF’theappliance,unplugandensureitisuprightbefore:
– changingorusingtools– removingthehoseorairwayinspectionparts.
• Usethecyclonecarryhandletocarrytheappliance.• Thewandcanbeusedwhenthehandleisretractedorextended.• Toreleasethewand,openthewandreleasecap.• Pullthewandupandawayfromthehandle.• Inuse,thetoolscanbeattachedtoeitherthehoseorthewand.• Toattachthetoolstothehose,presstheredreleasebuttonintheconnecting
collarandremovethewandfromthehose.• Torefit,removetoolsandplacethewandintothehoseuntiltheredbuttonclicks
intoplace.• Presstheredbuttononthehose.Slidethewandintothehose.• Makesurethewandandhoseareseatedintherecessofthehandle.
Thehosemustbecontracted.• Ifthehandleisextended,holdthecollarwiththecablehookonitandslideit
downintherecessofthehandle–itwillclickintoplace.Makesurethetopofthewandclicksintoplaceinthetopofthehandleatthesametime.Closethewand cap.
• Presstheredhandlereleasebuttondownandslidethehandledownintothe appliance.
• Ifthehandleiscontracted(i.e.inthelowstorageposition),makesurethecollarwiththecablehookisseatedintherecessofthehandle.Slidethewanddownintothehosesothetopofthewandclicksintoplaceinthetopofthehandleatthesametime.
CARPEtS OR hARD fLOORS• Thebrushbarwillalwaysdefaultto‘ON’(spinning)eachtimeyouswitchthe
appliance‘ON’andreclineitforcleaning.• Thebrushbarwillnotrotatewhentheapplianceisupright.• Toswitchthebrushbar‘OFF’(e.g.fordelicaterugsandfloors):
– switchtheappliance‘ON’– reclinetheappliance– pressthebrushbar‘ON/OFF’button–thebrushbarwillstopspinning.
• Thebrushbarwillautomaticallystopifitbecomesobstructed.See‘Brushbar–clearingobstructions’.
• Beforevacuumingyourflooring,rugsandcarpets,checkthemanufacturer’srecommendedcleaninginstructions.
• Somecarpetsmayfuzzifarotatingbrushbarisusedwhenvacuuming.Ifthishappens,werecommendvacuumingwiththebrushbarswitched‘OFF’andconsultingwiththeflooringmanufacturer.
• Thebrushbarontheappliancemaydamagesomecarpettypes.Ifyouareunsure,turn‘OFF’thebrushbar.
LOOKING AftER YOUR DYSON APPLIANCE• Donotcarryoutanymaintenanceorrepairworkotherthanthatshowninthis
DysonOperatingManual,oradvisedbytheDysonHelpline.• OnlyusepartsrecommendedbyDyson.Ifyoudonotthiscouldinvalidate
your guarantee.• Storetheapplianceindoors.Donotuseorstoreitbelow0°C(32°F).Ensurethe
applianceisatroomtemperaturebeforeoperating.• Cleantheapplianceonlywithadrycloth.Donotuseanylubricants,cleaning
agents,polishesorairfreshenersonanypartoftheappliance.
• Ifusedinagarage,alwayswipethebaseplate,ballandstabiliserwheelswithadryclothaftervacuumingtocleanoffanysand,dirtorpebblesthatcoulddamagedelicatefloors.
VACUUmING CAUtION:
• Donotusewithouttheclearbinandfiltersinplace.• Finedirtsuchasplasterdustorflourshouldonlybevacuumedinvery
small amounts.• Donotusetheappliancetopickupsharphardobjects,smalltoys,pins,paper
clips,etc.Theymaydamagetheappliance.• Whenvacuuming,certaincarpetsmaygeneratesmallstaticchargesinthe
clearbinorwand.Theseareharmlessandarenotassociatedwiththemainselectricitysupply.Tominimiseanyeffectfromthis,donotputyourhandorinsertanyobjectintotheclearbinunlessyouhavefirstemptieditandrinseditoutwithcoldwater(see‘Cleaningtheclearbin’).
• Powerfulsuctioncancausethehoseto‘pullback’–pleasetakecare.• Donotworkwiththeapplianceaboveyouonthestairs.Whencleaningstairsit
isrecommendedthatthehandleisnotextendedandthatyouuseatoolontheendofthehoseratherthanthewand.
• Donotputtheapplianceonchairs,tables,etc.• Beforevacuuminghighlypolishedfloors,suchaswoodorlino,firstcheckthat
theundersideofthefloortoolanditsbrushesarefreefromforeignobjectsthatcouldcausemarking.
• Donotleavethecleanerheadinoneplaceondelicatefloors.
EmPtYING thE CLEAR bIN• EmptyassoonasthedirtreachestheleveloftheMAXmark–donotoverfill.• Switch‘OFF’andunplugbeforeemptyingtheclearbin.• Toremovethecycloneandclearbinunit,pressdownontheredbuttononthe
topofthecarryinghandleonthecyclone.• Toreleasethedirt,pressallthewaydownonthesameredbuttononthetopof
thecarryinghandleonthecyclone.• Tominimisedust/allergencontactwhenemptying,encasetheclearbintightlyin
aplasticbagandempty.• Removetheclearbincarefullyfromthebag.• Sealthebagtightly,disposeasnormal.• Torefit:
– ensuretheairwayinthebinbaseisclearofdustanddirt– closetheclearbinbasesoitclicksintoplace– pushthecycloneandclearbinunitintothemainbodyoftheappliance;itwillclickintoplace– ensurethecycloneandclearbinunitissecure.

CLEANING thE CLEAR bIN• Removethecycloneandclearbin(instructionsabove).• Toseparatethecycloneunitfromtheclearbinpresstheredbuttontoopen
theclearbinbase.Thisexposesasmallsilverbuttonbehindtheredopeningmechanism.Pressthesilverbutton(onitsribbedarea)andseparatethecycloneunitfromtheclearbin.
• Cleantheclearbinwithcoldwateronly.• Ensuretheclearbiniscompletelydrybeforereplacing.• Donotusedetergents,polishesorairfreshenerstocleantheclearbin.• Donotputtheclearbininadishwasher.• Donotimmersethewholecycloneinwaterorpourwaterintothecyclones.• Cleanthecycloneshroudwithadryclothordrybrushtoremovelintanddust.• Torefit:
– fitthecycloneshroudintotheclearbinsothatthesilverbuttonclicksand engages– closetheclearbinbasesoitclicksintoplace– pushthecycloneandclearbinunitintothemainbodyoftheappliance;itwillclickintoplace– ensurethecycloneandclearbinunitissecure.
WAShING YOUR fILtERS• Yourappliancehastwowashablefilters,locatedasshown.• Checkandwashthefiltersonceamonthtomaintainperformance.• Switch‘OFF’andunplugbeforecheckingorremovingthefilters.• Thefiltersmayrequiremorefrequentwashingifvacuumingfinedust.• Washwithcoldwateronly.Donotusedetergents.• Donotputthefiltersinadishwasher,washingmachine,tumbledryer,oven,
microwaveornearanakedflame.
filter A • Removethecycloneandclearbin(instructionsabove).• Releasethecatchonthefrontofthecyclonehandle.Swingthehandleback.• Liftoutthefilter.• Washthefilterwithcoldwateronly.Holdunderatapandrunwaterthroughthe
openenduntilthewaterrunsclear.Turnupsidedownandtapout.• Squeezeandtwistwithbothhandstomakesuretheexcesswaterisremoved.• Runwaterovertheoutsideofthefilteruntilthewaterrunsclear.• Squeezeandtwistwithbothhandstomakesuretheexcesswaterisremoved.• Standthefilteronitswide,openendtodry.Leavetodrycompletelyfora
minimumof24hours.• Replacethefilterintothecyclone.Swingthehandlebackintoplace.Ensurethe
latchclickstoengageandissecure.Fitthecycloneandclearbinunitontotheappliance(instructionsabove).
filter b• Lietheapplianceonitsside.• ToremovefilterB:
– turnthebluecentrallockingdialontheoutercoveroftheballanti-clockwiseuntilthecoverisreleased– liftoffthecover– turnthefilterone-quarteranti-clockwisetorelease.
• Washthefilterwithcoldwateronly.• FilterBshouldberinsedandtappedoutuntilthewaterrunsclear,thentapped
outagaintoensureallexcesswaterisremoved.(Tapontheplasticrim,notthefiltermaterial.)Leavetodrycompletelyforaminimumof24hours.

• Itisnormalforthefilterintheballtoturngreyincolour.• TorefitfilterB:
– refitthefilterontotheball– securethefilterbyturningitclockwisesothewhitearrowsalign.
• Whenrefittingtheoutercoveroftheball,keepturningthecentrallockingdialclockwise.Whenitstartstoclickitislocked.

BLOCKAGES – THERMAL CUT-OUT• Thisapplianceisfittedwithanautomaticallyresettingthermalcut-out.• Largeitemsmayblockthetoolsorwandinlet.Ifanypartbecomesblockedthe
appliancemayoverheatandautomaticallycut-out.• Ifthishappens,followtheinstructionsbelowin‘Lookingforblockages’.
LOOKING FOR BLOCKAGES• Switch‘OFF’andunplugbeforelookingforblockages.Failuretodosocould
resultinpersonalinjury.• Leavetocooldownfor1-2hoursbeforecheckingthefiltersorforblockages.• Clearanyblockagebeforerestarting.• Lookforblockagesinthewand,airwaysandcleanerhead.• Toreleasethehosefromthemachine,youwillneedtoremovethewand.• Openthewandreleasecap.• Pullthewandupandawayfromthehandle.• Presstheredreleasebuttonintheconnectingcollarandremovethewandfrom
thehose.• Releasethehosefromtheappliancebypressingtheredtabonthebaseofthe
hose– youcanseeitfromthefrontoftheappliance.• Checkforblockagesinthehose.• Bewareofsharpobjectswhencheckingforblockages.• Torefitthehose,aligntheguidesonthebaseofthehosewiththechannelsin
theneckoftheairway.Ensuretheredtabfacesthefrontoftheappliance.Pushthehoseon.Itwillclickintoplace.Torefitthewandfollowtheinstructionsaboveinthe‘Operation’section.
• Toremovethebaseplatetoaccessanobstruction,see‘Baseplate–disassembly/reassembly’.
• Tolookforblockagesinthefrontairwaybetweentheballandthecleanerheadyouwillneedtoremovethecleanerhead:see‘Baseplate–disassembly/reassembly’belowonhowtodothis.
• Tolookforblockagesintherearairwaybetweentheballandthecleanerheadyouwillneedtoreleasetheelasticatedrearconnection.Pulltheplasticconnectortowardsyoutoreleasefromtheupperairway.Toreplaceit,pullitalittlewayoutonthehorizontalsothatitalignswiththeupperairway.Gentlyreleaseitsoitpullsitselfbackintoplace.
• Bewareofsharpobjectswhencheckingforblockages.• Refitallpartssecurelybeforeusing.• Clearingblockagesisnotcoveredbyyourguarantee.
BRUSH BAR – CLEARING OBSTRUCTIONS• Ifyourbrushbarisobstructed,itmayshut‘OFF’.Ifthishappens,youwillneed
toremovetheblockage.• Switch‘OFF’andunplugbeforeproceeding.Failuretodosocouldresultin
personalinjury.• Bewareofsharpobjectswhenclearingobstructions.• Ifyoustillcannotcleartheobstruction,pleasefollowtheinstructionsbelowto
removethebaseplate.Thisgivesmoreaccesstotheobstruction.Alternatively,contactaDysonexpertontheDysonHelplineorvisitthewebsite.Clearingbrushbarobstructionsisnotcoveredbyyourguarantee.
BASE PLATE – DISASSEMBLY/REASSEMBLY• Switch‘OFF’andunplugbeforeproceeding.Failuretodosocouldresultin
personalinjury.• Lietheapplianceonitsfront.• Thereisaredlatchontheconnectionbetweentheballandcleanerhead.Slide
ittowardstheball,supportingtheapplianceasyoudoso.• Pullthecleanerheadawayfromtheappliance.Useaconstant,firmpressure.• Ateachendofthecleanerheadaretworedlevers:
– pivottheleversupandouttowardstheendofthecleanerheaduntiltheyclick– hingethebaseplateopen.
• Bewareofsharpobjectswhenclearingobstructions.• Torefitthebaseplate,hingeitclosed.• Tosecurethebaseplatepivotbothleversbackintopositionsotheyareflush
withthesurfaceofthecleanerhead.• Laytheapplianceonitsback.• Fitthecleanerheadbackontotheconnectionsunderneaththefrontpartofthe
ball.Slidethecleanerheadupintothechannelseithersideoftheairway.Pushfirmly:thecleanerheadwillclickintoplaceandtheredlatchwillengage.

WHAT IS COVEREDTherepairorreplacementofyourDysonappliance(atDyson’sdiscretion)ifitisfoundtobedefectiveduetofaultymaterials,workmanshiporfunctionwithin5yearsofpurchaseordelivery(ifanypartisnolongeravailableoroutofmanufactureDysonwillreplaceitwithafunctionalreplacementpart).Theguaranteewillonlybevalid(i)iftheapplianceisusedinthecountryinwhichitwassoldor(ii),iftheapplianceisusedinAustria,Belgium,France,Germany,Ireland,Italy,Netherlands,SpainortheUnitedKingdomandthesamemodelasthisapplianceissoldatthesamevoltageratingintherelevantcountry.
WHAT IS NOT COVEREDDysondoesnotguaranteetherepairorreplacementofaproductwhereadefectistheresultof:
