Dennis VanAusdal (Mr. V) is the new Physics with Technology

teacher at Wasatch High School. He grew up in Goshen Utah and graduated from Payson High School. He went to BYU and obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering but decided to go back to school to get his teaching certificate. He lived in Alaska for seven years, and while there, completed his Master’s Degree in Education through a California University. Mr. V taught four years in Alaska then moved back to Utah and taught at Payson High School for three years.

Mr. V is excited about teaching at WHS and has been impressed with the students that are in his classes. Mr. V’s teaching philosophy is that every student can learn and succeed in his class if given the opportunity. Mr. V’s commitment is to give every student every opportunity to learn and succeed that he can. ―My door is always open to students and parents.‖

Lynette Schiess was born and raised in Heber City, Utah, where she graduated from Wasatch High

School. After high school, she went on to earn her Associate’s Degree from UVU. She then married Tracy Schiess from Lehi and started a family. They are currently in the process of raising three wonderful boys, Dagen, age 17; Jaxon, age 13; and Gage age 6.

As their boys became more independent, Lynette decided it was time to go back to school to pursue her lifelong goal of being a school counselor. Lynette graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Utah Valley Univer-sity after which she became employed at Heber Valley Counseling as a Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist. She went on to earn a Master’s Degree from Utah State University in Psychology/School Counseling. She was fortunate enough to be offered a job at J.R. Smith Elementary School. The payoff of reaching her goal is more rewarding than she ever imagined it would be. She absolutely loves working with the students and the staff at J. R. Smith.

In her spare time, Lynette loves to be anywhere the sun is shining and the tem-perature is warm. She enjoys camping and riding four-wheelers with her family and friends. She is also an avid sports fan. If there is any Wasatch game in town, there’s a good chance Lynette will be there cheering the team on.

Lynette is excited to be a part of the great team in the Wasatch County School District and looks forward to helping students set and achieve goals to become whatever each individual student desires to be.

Jared Jones grew up in Heber City and attended Wasatch High School. As a senior at Wasatch High School, Jared was

enrolled in the same class that he has now returned to teach. After high school, Jared attended Southern Utah University . Imme-diately after graduation, he took a teaching job at a Southern Utah private school where he was the PE teacher, Cross Country, Basketball, and Track Coach. After two years, he and his family moved to Las Vegas to teach and coach in the public education sector. After a year and a half in Clark County School District, Jared’s job was ―surplused‖ as the district looked to cut costs by eliminating PE at many schools.

Instead of moving and seeking new teaching jobs, Jared stayed in Las Vegas and entered the corporate wellness and fitness field designing wellness programs for small companies and large corporations. At the same time, Jared was completing his Masters Degree in Human Movement Biomechanics, and teaching as an adjunct professor at UNLV for their educational outreach program, teaching the Personal Training certification course. He continued working in corporate wellness and fit-ness until 2009 when he was hired as the Fitness Professional for Wynn Resorts. Jared was the head of training and also taught indoor cycling. Working at the Wynn allowed Jared to meet and train a number of professional athletes, celebrities, and politicians. Although it was an exciting job, his real passion is teaching and training people and seeing individual transformations take place.

Jared jumped at the opportunity to return to Heber City as the Training Director at the Fit Stop, as well as the Exercise Science CTE teacher. His current position is his dream job, teaching students, and helping individuals reach their health and fitness goals.

Cory Lange is the new Information Technology and Business teacher at Wasatch

High School. He is currently teaching the digital media and computer technology classes. During that time he went back to school and received his teaching certificate.

Cory and his wife, Liz, have three adorable children. Their oldest is a son named C.C., age 7; followed by Kayli, age 4; and the youngest is Alyson, age 2. They recently purchased a home in the Valley Hills area in Heber City.

In addition to teaching, Cory loves all sports. He was the assistant boys’ basketball coach at East High School for ten years. He is currently the assistant girls’ basketball coach at Wasatch High. Cory could not be more excited about teaching at Wasatch High School and being a part of this great community.
