Was Roosevelt's Fourth TermNecessary to Fulfil PROPHECY?

SEVERAL years ago a student of bibli­cal prophecy remarked, "Franklin D.Roosevelt will be the LAST PRESI­

DENT THE UNITED STATES WILLEVER HAVE." No one, of course, took theremark seriously, then.

Was This Our Last Election?

Another prophetic writer, four yearsago, 1940, issued a pamphlet in which hewrote: "The prophetic indications are thatPresident Roosevelt will be reelected in1944, for the second world war will stillbe in progress and will be approaching itsclimax, The 1944 election may be the LASTONE OUR NATION WILL HAVEUNDER OUR PRESENT POLITICALSET·UP." And this writer went on to saythat he believed prophecy indicated that by1948 a Theocratic form of government willbe established over America and GreatBritain.

How many realize the tremendousSIGNIFICANCE of the presidental elec­tion-just WHY it had to go the way itdid go, because there is a certain DESTINYto be fulfilled by this nation and the world?It simply HAD to go that way in the pro­gress of the PLAN that is being worked outhere below-a PLAN pre·ordained andworked out and even revealed thousands ofyears ago!

The writer quoted a moment ago, Fred­erick Haberman, made another very inter­esting statement in a book written in 1932,just before Mr. Roosevelt's election theFIRST time. He then pointed out thatPresident Hoover was the 30th presidentof the United States, and thus completesa DEFINITE CYCLE in American history.

In another book published in June,194O-just BEFORE the third-term electionfour years ago--this same writer broughtout THIS very interesting prophetic obser­vation: "Therefore any political party thatis aiming to BALANCE THE BUDGETand to curtail Federal help to the helpless;that is aiming to let private industry em­ploy more men; that is aiming to return toprivate interests the development of thenation's water power and natural resources;that is aiming to return to the GOLDSTANDARD-is DOOMED TO DEFEATin the next election and forever after."

Roosevelt Man of Destiny?

Well, was it pre·ordained that Mr. Roos­evelt was to break all precedent and go backto the White-House for a third, and nowfor a FOURTH term, because he has adefinite MISSION TO FULFIL-a missionvery few see, or understand, or evenDREAM OF now-a mission connectedwith the prophecied DESTINY OF nusNATION, and of the WHOLE WORLD?

The Real SignificanceWhen Jesus Christ came to earth 1900

years ago, He came as a Messenger, bearinga MESSAGE from Almighty God-a Mes­sage this world will do well to heed!

He came proclaiming a NEW ORDER­a new kind of GOVERNMENT - aWORLD government-the THEOCRATICform of government.. Now the OLD Testa­ment teaching, recorded in the "Law andthe Prophets," was UNTIL JOHN, but, aswe read in Luke 16:16, "SINCE THATTIME-since John-the KINGDOM OF['.,()D is preached." And so, as we read inMark 1:14:15:

"Now after that John was put in prison,Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Go­pel of the KINGDOM OF GOD, and say­ing, 'The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdomof God is at hand: repent ye, and believethe Gospel.' ..

If, as some believe, God's purpose in ourbeing alive is to get us "saved"-and if, asSOmany believe, all there is to getting "saved"» accepting Christ as Saviour, then WHYis it that God does not instantly take eachone to his reward as soon as he acceptsCllCist=---away from all the continuous trials,heart-aches, and sufferings of this life?

The answer, briefly stated, is that C:JOdaeated the human family for a very greatPURPOSE-a purpose I'm afraid most pro­fessing Christians, and even most ministers,have missed entirely.

IJmighty God is the Supreme Artist­you see His artistry in magnificent sunsets,beautiful landscapes, awe-inspiring moun­t,ains, in the star-studded sky. God's work ofartistry is CREATION. He is the supreme,Almighty, Creator of all.

But now in MAN, God has set His handto produce the crowning pinnacle of Hisown works of creation, yes, even higherthan the angels. In man He is creatingperfect, righteous, holy CHARACTER! Andthat is the highest, most lofty achievementthat even the Supreme Almighty Creatorcan accomplish!

God's PURPOSE in having brought yOIl

ioto this world-in permitting you to liveand breathe-is to create in and thru youHis own supreme MASTERPIECE of crea­tion!

Is thm important?Oh, but you say-"Why, I'm not impor­

tant-I'm not of much consequence--howcould the Great Omnipotent God be speci­ally concerned about me?"

It's true, JOII, as you are now, certainlyA!e not very important-certainly of verylittJe consequence--so far as your own in­herent ability and capacity is concerned. Godmade you a little lower than the angels, Hemade man. a little higher than dumb animals,but on his own power and initiative, man~ sunken down to depths lower than anyammaI would be capable of reaching.

Man has sinned-yes, YOU have sinned!You are full of faults, weaknesses short­

comings. You have bad habits. You p~obablybaTe some "secret sin" you have not yetmastered and overcome, which no one knowsanything about except just you-and GOD!

Then can you realize the sobering~U'IH that it is the purpose of the Ever­IiTmg God to make out of you-sinful andanwort:Jv and incapable tho you have been

-an immortal, spiritual and holy CHARAC­TER so pure, and noble, and righteous thatultimately the Eternal God Himself canlook upon you with loving pride as theSUPREME product of all His creativepower thruout eternity ?

Can your mind grasp the awful great­ness--the solemn IMMENSITY of thattruth? And it is a truth. Of course, there willbe many others on the same lofty highplane--just as holy and righteous charactersas you. But you are a human being, andthat is God's PURPOSE in human existence!

It ought to fill you with awe--withWONDER! Impossible? Not at all! Itwould, of course, be ridiculously, utterlyimpossible for you, of yourself, to trans­form yourself into such :l creation. Rut withGod ALL THINGS are possible, and this isthe zenith of all things. Remember God isALL-powerful-He is the ALL-mighty. Hispower is not limited.

And that's exactly why you were bom­why you are alive, and reading these verylines this minute! GOD HAS A PURPOSEFOR YOU! .A great, mighty, SUPREMEpurpose! Does it make you feel ratherbumble-lowly, insignificant, unworthy? Itshould!

But you see, you, yourself, do not haveto do this. It is GOD who is the Creator.And His purpose-His supreme purpose ofall eternity-is to create in YOU, as oneprecious member of the human family, thisvery pinnacle of CHARACTER. God Him­self will do this creating. HE will do thework. HE is the Divine Sculptor. You areonly a piece of human clay in His Hands.

But this character will not be createdin you unless and until you, yourself, makethe DECISION-unless and until you sim­ply bung~r and thirst for the pure, holycharacter of God to be built within you-un­less and until you crucify this mortal fleshand its cravings and desires and tempers-­unless you REPENT bitterly and deeply ofSIN, and will exert your utmost effort to putit down and hold it under, crying out earn­estly to God with broken, contrite heart cont­tinuously, believingly, TRUSTING Him toforgive you and to fill you with His LOVE,His understanding and wisdom, His faith,His power, to simply take you into HIScapable Hands and to make of you whatHe purposes, and what you are utterly un­able to make of yourself. Yes, you haveyour part in it-but it is GOD who willimpart to you HIS righteousness-His veryown Holy and righteous CHARACTER!

If you'll REPENT, and come to Godthru Jesus Christ as Saviour, trusting in Hisprecious shed blood for the remission ofevery sin you ever committed, trusting the

risen, Ever-Living Christ as High Priest tocome literally inside you, thru His HolySpirit, and to mould, fashion, shape yourcharacter-then you'll see that the Creatoris STILL CREATING, in you, the veryhighest work of all His entire works ofcreation!

Yes, Christians are being "CREATEDin Christ Jesus 111110 good works" (Eph.2:10) ,-"CREATED in righteousness andtrue holiness" (Eph. 4:24).

For this tremendous purpose, you weremade of mort" I clay- -made a little lowerthan the angels. Yes, made subject to pride,vanity, passions and tempers, the lusts anddesires of the flesh. Character is somethingwhich cannot be instantaneously created. Itgrows, and is developed thru EXPERI·ENCES--and experiences require TIME.

It requires the human life-time, duringwhich one must suffer temptations, encoua­ter obstacles, endure tribulations, overcomeself. But you have GOD'S POWER to drawon. It isn't really you doing it-it's God.Your part is to repent, surrender fully,wholly, unreservedly into His Hands-seekHim, cry out to Him, TRUST Him. Youhave your part in it, of course-s-else therewould be no character!

And all this is WHY "it is thm muchTRIBULATION we must enter the King·dom of God,"--and "MANY are the afflic­tions of the righteous, but the Eternal deliv­ers him out of them all,"··-and "all whowill live ,!;odly in Christ Jesus shalt sufferpGs:_':~llon. '

Are JOII persecuted, opposed, for yourbelief and Christian life? If not, you'dbetter fall to your knees quickly, and RE­PENT, and ask God to show you WHYyou ar not living godly in Christ Jesus! Ifyou are, REJOICE !-and read Matthew5:10. But don't deliberately bring on perse­cution thru lack of wisdom or misdirectedzeal!

Jesus Himself is our example. If theypersecuted Him, so shall we be persecutedif we tmly are His followers! Jesus SUF­FERED! But it is recorded, "Though Hewere a Son, yet learned He obedience b,the things which He suffered; and !HingMADE perfect, He became the author ofeternal salvation unto all them that obeyHim." (Heb. 5:8-9) .

Again, "But we see Jesus, who wasmade a little lower than the angels for thesuffering of death, crowned with glory andhonor; . . . for it became Him ... to ma,the captain of their salvation PERFECfthru sllfferings:' (Heb. 2:9-10).

Jesus became perfect! He was bornhuman, and He was not born perfect. He

Do circumstances come up in your life­adverse circumstances which may first bringfright, consternation, worry, but which driveyou to your knees seeking deliverance fromGod-circumstances which you later seewere actually sent from God to pU11ish yo#­to teach you a lesson-to bring you closerto Him? God says He chastens every sonwhom He loves! So don't grumble, gripeand growl, REJOICE!

The PLAIN TRUTH

Do you have enemies? Can you see thatthe Devil is literally after you, perhapsusing deceived people under his sway, eventho they pose as Christians? \Y,Tell, RE­JOICE! If Satan is angry with you, thenyou must be one of God's elect! Read Rev­elation 12:12-17. But you don't need tofight back against your enemies. God willfight your battles for you. if you'll justTRUST Him! Pray for your enemies-s-andbe sure it's not a prayer against them. Iftheir works are evil, do not fellowshipthem-avoid them, but never be unkind tothem. Everyone whom God is using, andwho is accomplishing anything for Christwill have enemies. But keep sweet, keepyour heart filled with the LOVE of God,your mind filled with His FAITH, andTRUST HIM!

Of course, you do have one enemy whomyou, yourself must fight-continuously, re­lentlessly. That enemy is your own SELF'You are your own worst enemy. If you,with God's help, overcome him, you shallsit with Christ on His throne, ruling overthe nations!

God is the great Master Sculptor. Weare His day. If we submit into His hands,He will shape, fashion, and mould out ofour lives a beautiful, holy, and perfectrhararter that shall one day, when finished.become His crowning MASTERPIECE!

It is for that purpose that you were born,and are alive. Don't let another day--notanother hour, or minute, pass by while yOllneglect or overlook that great PURPOSE!Yield yourself fully to God-rededicateyour life-re-consecrate your-self. utterlyand wholly, and do it NOW'!

WHY THE NEW DEAL?

DESTINY when they tried to RESTOREa system or regime which would attemptto balance the budget, restore the rule ofmoney, and restore employment thru theprofit-system of private industry.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED, by thetime of Roosevelt's FIRST campaign, in1932? As an aftermath of the first worldwar, 40 other nations took a tail-spin intoeconomic bankruptcy and chaos, before thisworld-sweeping economic tornado struck US.So, partly, it was a WORLD-condition.Political revolution had started in Europe.Communism had started in Russia, Fascismin Italy, and Nazism was ready to take overin Germany.

NO'v, meantime, the MACHINE-agehad developed. Machine-production meanta great deal MORE was being PRO­DUCED.

But something was WRONG-and itwas the manipulation of the money, or thePROFIT-system. Mass production has to beproduction FOR the masses, because big­business can't go on PRODUCING in massquantities without a mass-MARKET.

But, in their greed to pile up BIGGERPROFITS, capital and management over­looked that little fact, and the fact thattheir OWN FMPTDYERS had to providethe BULK of that market. There was, dueto machine production, a great deal MOREof everything for EVERYBODY--onlyEVERYBODY was unable to BUY it, be­cause of UNJUST and UNEQUAL distri­bution of the vastly-increased PROCEEDSthat accrued from mass machine production.

Where did the rapidly-increasing PRO­CEEDS of this increasing production GO?Not in higher WAGES-that is, not inREAL wages. A week's wages STILL boughtbut little more than it had before! No,those at the TOP of this profit-system,skimmed off all the cream.

The increasing PROCEEDS of machine­age production went out in VASTLY·IN­CREASED CORPORATION DIVIDENDS,to the STOCKHOLDERS! Rich men be­came RICHER. Soon we. had many timesMORE MILLIONAIRES than the worldhad ever known. Collosal fortunes werepiled up. Now WHO was to BUY all thisincreased production? No one, except therich men at the top, had enough MONEYto buy any more than before.

And so by 1932 we had OVERPRO·DUCTION! Then, when the world eco­nomic collapse that had wrecked 40 othernations hit us, with the Stock-market crashin 1929, industry SLOWED DOWN, capi­talists withdrew their capital, millions werethrown out of work!

Difference Between PhilosophiesTHAT was the general picture when

Roosevelt came to power in 1933. Mr.Roosevelt probably SAW a great deal ofthe REAL CAUSE of the trouble, but heonly had a PARTIAL cure.

Now, just in a brief nut-shell, let's tryimpartially to make CLEAR the real DIF­FERENCE between Roosevelt's so-calledNEW DEAL philosophy, and that of theRepublican party.

Always up until 1933, the method usedto provide JOBS, and produce prosperity,was for private CAPITALISTS to pourmoney in AT THE TOP. That is, investcapital in NEW ENTERPRISES whichwould then EMPLOY MORE MEN, andthus put money into circulation, and keepthe wheels of industry turning.

Episode I

Why Did the Reds Halt atGerman Frontier?

Months ago the Red Army had rolledalong, one Saturday night, within four tosix hours of invading actual German soil inEast Prussia. This was weeks before theallied channel-crossing on "0"-Day.

Next morning, up until broadcast time,I was anxiously scanning teletype bulletinshoping to "break" the news of Russian in­vasion. of actual German soil. Already it waslate afternoon over on the Eastern front.

But the news didn't break. For monthsthereafter I continued to raise the questionin the broadcasts: Would the Russiansactually invade German soil at all-or wouldthey wait for Britain and America to do theinvading while they established themselvessecurely before German defeat in that terri­tory they wish to control after that defeat­the Balkans to the south, and the Baltic tothe north?

You know, of course, what actually didhappen. The massive Red Armies, whichundoubtedly could have crashed on intoGermany many months ago and conceivablycould have ended the war before winter,halted dead at the German frontier, whilethey proceeded to occupy those countrieswhere they wish to be in control when Hitleris defeated. And it was troops of GeneralPatton's Third American Army which firstset foot on German soil-on the Westernfront.

Episode II

While "Big Three" Meeting IIis Delayed

By early November considerable mysterywas surrounding the cause for continued de­lay in the urgently-necessary second meet­ing of the "Big Three"-Roosevelt-Church­ill-Stalin. London was growing especiallyanxious.

Meanwhile the Russians had occupiedand taken over, permanently, Latvia, Estho­nia and Lithuania on the Baltic. They hadannounced they would take over EasternPoland. They were gradually taking over theBalkans.

No plebiscite was held. There was noself-determination. The people in thesecountries were not asked nor permitted to

make this decision at the polls. The decisionwas made for them, and announced in Mos­cow. The ReJ armies were in possession, Noooe questioned these Russian decisions.There were no loud State Department pro­tests emanating from Washington aboutRussia interfering in the internal affairs ofliberated nations.

But when the Russians, plowing steadilythru the Balkans, threatened to drive clearsouth into Greece, Britain's very life-lineand special sphere of influence was threat­ened. The British sprang to action and occu­pil"c1 Greece before the Russians arrived.

The New Balkan State IsAnnounced

Meanwhile, Tito twice had flown toMoscow and conferred with Stalin. Finallya plan was completed for the formation ofa NEW BALKAN STATE-federated Yu­goslavia! There was no "Big Three" meet­ing to discuss and decide this issue. That wasstill being mysteriously postponed. Whenthe plan for the new Balkan state was per­fected, the Yugoslav prime Minister, Brit­ish-supported Dr. Subasich, with the planin his pocket, flew for an OK, not to Lon­don, but to Moscow. Stalin approved. Itwas officially announced the last week inNovember, from Moscow.

This is called a DEMOCRATIC, feder­ated Yugoslavia. You'll read of it in thenewspapers as a "democratic" state. But isit? Promptly, Marshall Tito ordered 2,000industrial and comrnerrial enterprises, sev­eral banks, 30,000 farms, NATIONAL­IZED! That is, gabled up by the newCommunist state, thus dispensing with pri-

vate industry and free enterprise!Scarcely a month had passed since the

Red Army had entered Belgrade. Now hugepictures of Stalin and Tito, side by side, werehung in every shop window. Banners em­blazoned forth with the new Yugoslavia'sRed Star, and Russia's hammer and sickle.Red Army troops rolled on thru the streetstoward the Hungarian Froat in U. S. Lend­Lease trucks.

You probably didn't read much aboutthis new Moscow-controlled Balkan state inthe newspapers. Anu you didn't read much,either, about any administration or StateDepartment protests against Stalin interfereing in Yugoslav domestic affairs or violatingthe Atlantic Charter. WHY?

Suppose Mr. Roosevelt and Mr. Church­ill do not approve of this new federatedYugoslavia? Is there anything they can doabout it?

Episode IIIWhat Really Happened in Greeee

Then the world began to hear of fight­ing in Athens, between British soldiers andGREEKS whom the allies had liberatedfrom the Germans!

The important fact most people seemto have overlooked is that this trouble-­and also that in Belgium and in Italy­occured in territory where the Germansstand defeated-where the United Nationsare having their first test in establishingand maintaining post-war PEACE!

Americans were fed conflicting and con­fusing news.

On the one hand, the first act of theSecretary of State, Mr. Stettinius, was inter­preted as a rebuke to the British for theirintervention in the domestic affairs ofGreece, Writers in Washington said theBritish had killed the Atlantic Charter. TheState Department, speaking out against theBritish action in Greece, said a lot aboutstanding firmly for SELF-DETERMINA.TION within liberated European countries.A wave of popular indignation against Brit­ain swept America.

On the other hand, Mr. Churchillcharged, in a fighting speech on the floorof Commons, that left-wing (Communist)elements were plotting the overthrow ofthe constituted governments in Greece andBelgium. He denounced these attempts aslawless uprisings to seize power and establisha Communist reign of terror. And Britain,he said emphatically, was standing squarelyon the principle of self-determination.

aofortunate situation? Were the Britishmterfering in local domestic affairs inGreece? Were they violating the principlesof self-determination, nullifying the Atlan­tic Charter?

The simple facts are these: When theRussians were driving southward thru theBalkans, while they marked time at theGerman East-Prussian frontier, and Britain'slife-line thru the Mediterranean was threat­ened in Greece, the British rushed troopsioto Greece, before the Russians could reachit, There was a constituted government,British-approved and backed, of course, justas there is in Southern Italy and territoryoccupied by American soldiers.

Meanwhile COMMUNISM was stalkingall Europe, in the wake of war, famine andpestilence. Liberated Europe--those portionswhere the Nazis actually have been defeatedand driven out-suddenly had become abtbylon of unrest and internal dissention.Spontaneously in Belgium, in France, Italy,Greece--even in Spain-Communist upris­ings flared forth. One might questionwhether all these conflicts would havestarted in so many countries so spontane­ously unless they were all systematicallylimed and directed from one central Com­munist headquarters?

In Greece, Communists took up armsand by physical violence attempted to over­throw the government. The British resisted,defending with the few soldiers stationedthere the established, constituted govern­ment.

As to self-determination, no one knewthe popular wilJ in Greece-c-or, for thatmatter, in Belgium or Italy where there isalso trouble. But best information is thatthe Communistst, attempting to overthrow the:government in Greece by armed violence,represented less than 10% of the popula­tion. Greece is one nation which is notcommunistically inclined,

But, Communist sympathizers ask, ifno vote had been taken in Greece, WHYNOT? The British reply that no just andsatisfactory plebiscite could be held untilorder is restored-and they give assurancesthe government will be determined by thepeople when that is accomplished. We might00 well to remember no such plebiscites hadbeen held in any of the liberated nationsoccupied by the United States, nor in anyof those occupied or literally taken over byRussia.

But the crux of the matter is the factthat the very LIFE-LINE of the BritishEmpire was threatened. If the Communistshad taken over the government in Greece,adding it to the other Balkan states recentlyblken over by Russia, the British Empiremight be cut in two in a mortal blow th..twould end that Empire!

What This All MeansIn part of Europe-these liberated

countries-Germany stands already defeated.In that territory the war is over. There the

United Nations are facing the test of theirability to establish and maintain post-warPEACE ! Yet in these countries there isanything BUT peace!

Why?It seems difficult for Americans to under­

stand. That is because we do not look uponthis war as the British and Russians do. Forus, our one major objective is to win thismilitary war. Beyond that, we look only toan altruistic and rather vague peace whichwe trustingly believe will be achieved bysome international ORGANIZATION com­posed of what we like to term the "peace­loving" United Nations. We believe thiswill bring the blessings of DEMOCRACYand PEACE to Europe and the world. Andthen we expect to live happily ever after.

But winning the war is not necessarilythe major objective with the Russians or theBritish. They both have long-range PRO­GRAMS which carry far beyond this pres­ent war. It is merely the preliminary andimmediate incidental, playing its part in theover-all ultimate program. The British havea world Empire to protect. They intend tosee it still intact when the war ends. TheRussians have a program-the communiza­tion of the world--tho many trusting Ameri­cans serenely believe they have given up thisgoal. But then, not many of us understandCommunism, or its methods.

We understand only one kind of war­military, or physical warfare. But the Com­munist's principal method of warfare is notphysical. It is mind propaganda first, work­ing internally in various countries, organiz­ing labor unions and numerous other osten­sibly patriotic organizations often headedby men of high standing who are knownnon-Communists, yet so adroitly maneuveredby the Communist planners that they canmanipulate its activities to accomplish theirpurposes. Their plan is to take time togain enough popular support-s-even from anactive minority-and enough organizationalstrength to attempt a REVOLUTION fromwithin, instead of armed invasion from with­out. It's just a different kind of aggression.And with this kind of warfare Communistshave been at war against the government ofthe United States for years-yet we seemto know it not!

Can United Nations Bring PEACE?

The delegates at the Dumbarton Oaksconference admitted frankly that all effortstoward world peace by a world organizationof United Nations will stand or fall solelyupon ability of the "Big Three"-theUnited States, Britain, Russia- to remainunited and in perfect harmony.

But with Russia moving into the terri­tory she considers her "sphere of influence,"and Britain defending her "sphere of in­fluence" in armed conflict against Com­munists in Greece - with competitive"spheres of influence,"-with competitiveplans for world dominance-with theRussians halting and marking time at theGerman frontier in order to get their troops

Perhaps it is better that we become dis­illusioned here and now!

This all raises the question as to whetherRussia and Great Britain are to proceedindependently and competitively in the oldpattern of POWER POLITICS-Russiawith the Communist objective of conquer­ing the world thru propaganda, internalclass-distinction organizations, and ultimateinternal revolutions--Britain with a world­spanning Empire to protect, or whether theycan bring themselves into a peace,lovingCO-OPERATION so trustingly envisionedby so many wishful thinkers in America.

The PLAIN TRUTII is that the UnitedNations never will be able to give the worldany permanent world peace! Of course wewant peace. But we want it our way--andour way simply isn't the WAY to peace!

What is prophesied? Does prophecy in·dicate the nations will get together andbring about PEACE? Most certainly not­just the contrary!

whom mall I speak, and give WARNING.that they may hear? behold their ear isuncircumcised, and they cannot heatkeo:behold, the word of the Eternal is untothem a reproach, they have no delight init. .... for from the least of them evenunto the greatest of them every one is givento covetousness; and from the prophet evenunto the priest every one dealeth falsely.They have healed also the hurt of my peopleslightly, sayings, 'PEACE, PEACE;'- whmthere is no peace! ... Thus saith the Lord,Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask forthe old paths, where is the GOOD WAY,and walk therein. .. Also I lei: watchmenover you, saying, Hearken to the sound ofthe trumpet. But they said, we will nothearken, Therefore hear, ye nations, mdknow, 0 congregation, what is among them,Hear, 0 Earth: behold, I will bring erilupon this people, even the fruit of theirthoughts, because they have not hearkenedunto my words, nor to my law, but rejectedit." (Jer. 6:10-19).

Yes, the people will not heed God'sWARNING! His warning of WORLDWAR, and not of peace! His warning of acoming, and imminent invasion and capd­vity and DEFEAT of Britain and America,not of dominance in a world of peace! Butwhether people wish to listen or not, THATIS GOD'S W ARNING-that is the SUREword of PROPHFCY! ('..od !laYS we can'thave peace becaus« we have not listened toHis words, NOR TO HIS LAW, but re­jected it! Mark that well!

Is it, then, because we altogether ignoreGod. and never pray to Him, that we arenot having peace? No, because we are notaltogether ignoring God, and our people­even up to our President-do pray.

But, asGod says of out British-Americanpeople of this present remnant generation(Hosea 7:14, Moffatt translation,) '"THEYNEVER PUT THEIR HEART INTO'£HEIR PRAYERS!"

Why United Nations Will Fail

As God says thru Isaiah: "Hear ye this,o House of Jacob (British-America), ...which swear by the name of the Eternal,lind make mention of the God of Israel,BUI' NOT IN TRUTH, NOR IN UP­RIGHTNESS. . . . Thus saith the Eternal,thy Redeemer, the Holy One of brad; I amthe Eetemal thy God which teacheth thee toprofit, which leadeth thee by the way thatthou shouldest go. 0 THAT THOUHADST HEARKENED TO MY COM­MANDMENTS! THEN HAD THYPEACE BEEN AS THE RIVER." (Isaiah48:1, 17-18).

Had we listened to Almighty God-hadwe kept His Commandments, lived by Hislaws, followed His paths, put our heartsinto our prayers, then we should have hadPEACE. We think it is ARMIES who bringpc:aee. But armies merely wage war! It isGOD who brings peace--and only to thosewho surrender to Him, keep His command­ments, put their faith and trust wholly inHIM! It isn't that God is deaf and can'thear, when we pray! But there's a REASONwhy our prayers are DOING NO GOOD­rising no higher than the ceiling of theroom! Here it is:

"Behold, the Eternal's hand is notshortened, that it cannot save; neither Hisear heavy that it cannot hear: But yominiquities have separated between yoli and)01Jf' God, and your sins have hid His facefrom you, that HE WILL NOT HEAR!, , , None calleth for justice, nor any plead­eth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak:lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forthiniquity.... Their feet run to do evil, andthey make haste to shed innocent blood:their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity ;wasting and destruction are in their paths.nIE WAY OF PEACE THEY KNOWNOT." (Isa. 59:1,4,7-8).

The Way to Peace

We do not have peace now, and weshall never bring about permanent peacewith and th#'fJ Gentile allier, because theWAY of peace WE KNOW NOT!

What, then, is the way of Peace? God.15 if we had kept His commandments, wemould have had peace. Sin is the trans­gression of God's LAW (I John 3:4). Oursins have separated between us and God, soHe will NOT HEAR. Our prayers are oftenstiff, formal, yet beautifully-couched phrases,which God does not hear or answer-be­cause our sins stand between us-becausewe are not sincere-because we do not put

our HEARTS into our prayers-becausewe are not in earnest, nor honest with God!

What is the WAY of Peace? God AI·mighty, not armies, or alliances with Stalin,or world organizations, is the AUTHOR ofPeace (I Cor. 14:33). Christ is the PRINCEof Peace. His Gospel is the GOSPEL ofPeace (Eph. 6: I:5) .

Jesus CHRIST is the WAY of Peace!And in His Gospel, He preached: "If thouwilt enter into life, KEEP THE COM­MANDMENTS." (Matt. 19:17). Hepreached, "LOVE YOUR ENEMIES,"(Matt. 5:44), and "I say unto you, That yeresist not him that is evil: but whosoevershall smite thee on thy right cheek, tum tohim the other also." (Matt. 5:39). Oh, but,-we say,-that wouldn't be practical !We'd never have peace THAT way'

Well, we do seem to think Jesus wasa sort of impractical idealist who didn'tknow what He was talking about, and wethink we know a better way. And we cer­tainly do not follow His way. BUT IFTHE PROOF OF THE PUDDINGIS IN THE EATING. T HEN WHYCAN'T WE SEE THAT OUR COURSEHAS NOT BROUGHT PEACE, ANDHOLDS NO PROMISE OF IT?

Jesus taught "It is more blessed toGIVE than to receive." If that is the wayto peace, then the United Nations will neverproduce peace. Deliberately halting at theGerman frontier while they get set in theterritory they wish to be in possession ofwhen the war ends--making shrewd behind­the-scenes chessboard moves DURING thewar to be set in competitive spheres of in­fluence after the war-strife, and choas andbloodshed in territory where Germany al­ready is conquered, where United Nationsare fighting, not Germans, but agdinst them­selves,-a~l this is not the way to peace, andinstead of promising peace, it ought tomake it CERTAIN in any thinking andOPEN mind that mankind of itself CAN­NOT BRING ANY REAL OR LASTINGPEACE!

By the very nature of things, there areforces in action in this world which thepoliticians and statesmen of the world can'tand WON'T stop--forces which, by theirvery nature, make the utopian peace ofour dreams an utter impossibility!

The World Tomorrow!No, we shall not have world peace until

the Almighty steps in and intervenes-untilHe sends Jesus Christ once again to earthin supernatural power as the KING ofkings, to rule all nations forcibly by GOD'SLAWS-until He straightens out this sorrymess we have produced.

The coming of Christ and the KING­DOM OF GOD is the world's only hopeof PEACE!

There's the prophecy of the injustice ofthis machine-age- the injustice of unequaldivision of the proceeds of machine-produc­tion - our Twentieth-Century LABORPROBLEM. But what's God's solution forthe Christian? Organize, perhaps undera Communist-dominated labor union?FIGHT for your rights? FORCE capitaland management to give labor a squaredeal? Or organize a federal labor board andbring about justice thru present human gov­ernment? All those things we've been try­ing-and none has brought justice or in­dustrial peace--none has succeeded! Listento GOD'S advice-yes, His command-tothe Christian worker:

"BE PATIENT, then, brothers, till thearrival of the Lord. See how the farmerwaits for the precious crop of the land, bid­ing his time patiently till he gets the autumn

and spring rains; have patience yourselves,strengthen your hearts, FOR THE ARRI·VAL OF "FHE LORD IS AT HAND! Donot murmer against one another, brothers,lest you are judged; look! the Judge isstanding at the very door!" (Verses 7-9).

Present Order Doomed

Most people will never turn to GODuntil after MAMMON--or MONEY-hasforsaken them. People make MONEY theirGOD-the LOVE of it is the root of allevil. Almighty God has blessed this nationand the British with the greatest MATER­IAL prosperity ever enjoyed by any peopleof history. Rut our people Israel ARR INBABYLON.
