Principals Message It has been wonderful to have our students back at school. We have enjoyed the enthusiastic “Hello” at the gates in the morning and watching the excited faces of the students as they catch up with their friends. I myself have enjoyed seeing fabulous student work again and have had many visitors to my office to show me their writing. Kindergarten students have settled back in well with only a few a little hesitant on the first day back. Our staff are meeting and greeting students at the gates in the morning and also saying goodbye at the gates in the afternoon. Thank you!!!!!!!!! I would like to say a very big thank you to all of our parents and congratulate you for bravely taking on Home Learning for seven weeks. You should feel very proud of what you have achieved. Without you we could not have ensured that our students were continuing to engage with learning whilst at home. It was wonderful to see wonderful examples of learning spaces that you created to encourage the learning and we very much enjoyed the photos of the students engaging with their learning. I would also like to congratulate my staff on their hard work over this period of time too. They ensured the continuity of learning for our students and came up with interesting ways of maintaining the contact with their students. We missed having them here and we are so glad to see them back. I am so very proud of our students, staff and school community!!!!!!!!!!!! Drop Off & Pick Up

It has been wonderful to see everyone back at school and getting back to some normality. Just a few concerns have been noted last week by staff doing gate duties throughout the week and we are hoping that we could ask the following of you if you are dropping off and picking up students;

** Please do not let children get out of the car on the road side.

** Please only park in marked parking spaces (some cars are parking in areas not marked and are right near the crossings).

** Please do not reverse in and out of staff carparks to turn around as other drivers & pedestrians won't be expecting that.

** Please look for areas where you can park safely and then walk to gates to collect children. Stopping alongside parked cars to drop off or pick up students is not safe.

** Please do not call students across the road to your car. There is a lot of traffic and this is very dangerous.

We want all of our students to arrive safely and leave safely each day. We are all responsible for making sure we look out for all of our students. We thank you in advance for assisting us with these requests to ensure the safety of our students.

Staffing

What have the students in K-2 been doing?

Welcome back to school!!!!

We are all beyond excited to be back at school learning and having fun with our friends!

We cannot thank parents enough for being our teachers for the past few months and the support you gave us all was indescribable! From the bottom of our hearts we thank you.

The last two weeks have seen us getting back into the routines of school…. morning routine, reading groups, TEN games, mathematics, art, sport and of course playtime!

Unfortunately, some events such as school assemblies, carnivals (like athletics carnival) and school excursions are still not allowed. Hopefully as we continue to progress through the year, these restrictions will be eased and hopefully in the not so distance future, we can enjoy these extra-curricular activities again.

Lastly, we would like to thank you for your support when dropping off and picking up your child/ren at school. This has been sometimes a tricky routine for some of our students to become used too, however it’s a change that we are working hard to make a success for all. Please assist us by ensuring you park your car safely in marked zones in the mornings and afternoons. Your child’s safety truly needs to be everyone’s priority.

Receiving our first Bronze Awards!

Stage 2 Stage 2 have been looking at and researching various celebrations in their history unit this semester.

Last week we created an artwork on the Diwali celebration. Here are some photos of the students work.

The students have also completed and presented their projects on their chosen celebration. There were lots of fantastic PowerPoint presentations and posters that the students have created. Here are some more photos of their projects too.

Stage 3

Welcome back! It was a well anticipated return to school last week. It was so great to see the smiling faces of all the students. They enjoyed seeing their friends and overall, have adjusted well to class and school routines. Teachers have spent the past week transitioning students back into classroom learning. Over the next few weeks they will begin assessing the students to find out where they are at with their learning.

The stage 3 teachers truly appreciate the effort and guidance parents and carers have given their children whilst learning from home. THANK YOU!

Just a few things to think about and remind your children about.

Students need to bring a bottle of water each day as the bubblers are for the sole purpose of refilling bottles not

for drinking from.

All students need to bring their own equipment, including pens, pencils, whiteboard markers and textas. Can you

please ensure that your child comes to school with this equipment each day? Unfortunately, due to Covid19, we

are unable to share equipment between students.

Lunch – There have been several Stage 3 students who are not bringing or eating their lunch. It is important for

students to bring a healthy lunch in order to maintain focus for the full day. Teachers are trying to monitor this;

however, it is difficult to monitor every student. We would appreciate it if you could ensure students are coming

with a packed lunch and discuss the importance of eating it at school
