Term 3 Staffing We farewell Ms Linda Glare on Friday and thank her for her work teaching 4G throughout Semester 1. Mrs Carly Phillips has been appointed as a permanent class teacher at Warnervale and she will be the class teacher of 4P for Semester 2. Mrs Cheryl Jacobs will remain the class teacher of 1J. We welcome back Mrs Rebecca Pis who returns from maternity leave. Mrs Pis will be a non teaching Assistant Principal responsible for Early Stage 1, Student Welfare and Professional Learning. While Mr Green is working at Gosford Office as a Learning and Engagement Officer for 6 weeks, Ms Sue Callan will be relieving Assistant Principal responsible for Stage 1. Educaon Week Educaon Week is celebrated from August 1—5. Educaon Week is a celebraon of public educaon. The Educaon Week theme for 2016 is: Shared stories, beer learning, stronger communies. We invite you to join us at Warnervale on Monday August 1 between 9.30—11 am for classroom visits. All classes will be showcasing Mathemacs acvies. You are then welcome to join your child for a picnic lunch. The P&C are organising a Mexican Monday Meal Deal. Click here for order form. School Uniform Just a reminder that Warnervale has a uniform policy and the wearing of correct school uniform is encouraged. PSSA sports jackets are only allowed to be worn on Fridays. There are many students who are wearing a variety of coloured jumpers and jackets each day. Please support our policy and ensure that your children are dressed in their correct uniform and hat each day for school. Aſternoon Pick Up Parents are requested to wait in the COLA / shade area, basketball court or outside the gate for their children. Children must not walk to the Community Centre car park in Minnesota Rd unaccompanied NO waing is permied outside classrooms. This is a safety requirement as all children will be leaving from the same main pathway. The pathway needs to be clear at all mes to allow access. Please DO NOT wait outside or on the steps of the two demountable classrooms Schools Tree Day This year our School Environmental club students and some of their friends will be parcipang in the Schools Tree Day this Friday July 29. The students will be planng nave trees in some new garden areas . Public Speaking

In 2016 Warnervale Public School will participate in the Hunter Central Coast Regional Public Speaking Competition. All students in the school will be preparing and presenting a speech to their classmates. As Speaking and Listening is one of the major strands of the English Syllabus we ask that you encourage and support your children as they participate in preparing and delivering their speech. All students will present a speech in class during Week 4 of Term 3. The timetable of the Public Speaking competition is:

TERM 3

Week 2 Note home Week 2 Students will discuss and work on their

ideas in class as well as at home Week 4 Class speeches – Up to four students

per class will be chosen to present their speech at the Stage level

Week 5 Stage Final speeches – two students per stage will be chosen to present their speech at the School then area and zone finals

Week 7 School Assembly Monday August 29, school finalists will present their speeches before they present at area finals

Week 7 Wyong Area finals: Thursday September 1 - venue Warnervale Public School
