Warn Industries’philosophy is simple: build axles tougher than therocks they crawl over. You’ll find 4340 chrome/nickel aircraft alloyforms the heart of our axle products. It has far better fatigue andstrength characteristics than the mild steel used in most other axles.

During our proprietary forging process, every axle is splined by CNCmachining and then heat treated for maximum strength. This givesthe WARN axles a yield strength of 230,000 psi. Sound a little betterthan a stock axle’s 90,000 psi or the average aftermarket axle’s125,000 psi? You bet it does.

Floating axles eliminate the flanged axle having to supportthe weight of the vehicle as well as hold the wheels on.Because of the high yield strength of the WARN axle,you’llalso find the largest spline count possible, limited only bythe differential. WARN axles are machined to accept a full-circle retaining ring whichreduces the possibility of a U-joint cap slipping out,a leading causeof u-joint failure. They also allow the owners of early Dana 30 frontaxles with 260x U-joints to upgrade to the more robust 297x U-joint.

WARN axle shafts have proven more robust than stock axles and willnormally survive a u-joint failure. They are warrantied for the life ofthe original owner against all manufacturer’s defects. However,because of individual driving styles,WARN will not warrantydamaged axles yokes that were the result of a U-joint failure.
