It is like a “come-back” or a “rebuttal”. It is the argument you make, based on what you’ve heard from the opposing viewpoint, in order to make your argument stronger.

1. You will be given arguments that are either for or against the WTO.

2. Your task is to read the arguments and write a claim, with multiple pieces of evidence from the text, and reasoning, using the graphic organizer.

3. You will then have a mini debate, using the graphic organizer.

DEBATE!1. The “PRO” side will present their sides first, and

their partners will take notes on their graphic organizers.

2. The “Con” side will present next, and their partners will take notes.

3. Both sides will then study their opponents argument and come up with a counter argument.

4. The pro side will present the counter argument.

5. The con side will present the counter argument.

6. Last: drop your roles and have a discussion about your real opinons. See if you can agree on which side you agree with.
